The game is utterly unplayable without something like this mod, the built-in hotkeys are astonishingly inhumane. I cannot understand how anyone can enjoy playing with the default controls. For now I am running 1.4 so I can use this mod. I hope somebody decides to make this work with 1.5 (and improve it so that a single hotkey can open each Architect menu).

Anyone looking at updating this? Essential mod imo, feels so handicapped without it.

can i hotkey psycasts and abilities with this?

To anyone who is having some issues understanding/using this mod.
The way to make it work:
Go to NORMAL game keybinds. Options -> controls -> Modify.
Scroll down until you see "Gizmo hotkeys" - Assign Gizmos. Set this to be some key combination (I think modifier keys work best, like Rctrl+Rshift)
Then in a menu (like the architect tab: orders) you hold down said modifier keys, and then right click. There is "make hotkey" or "Make direct hotkey"
All this action does is Create an option in the keybinds to activate this option.
In order to actually set the hotkey, you need to go back into keybinds, and the selected action should show up under "Gizmo hotkeys".

If there is any faster/easier way... i haven't found it. And would really appreciate some shortcut to that direct list (via hotkey, or other option) or having said keybinds be in a different list you can pull up. to save on the amount of time you need to spend scrolling down in the keybinds list and going through menus

i subscribed, but this wont add to my game's mod list and i have no idea why

Does this allow for a key bind to a certain building, like units in an RTS?

@basics many thanks for the reply. After much testing and searching, i'm guessing the weird behaviour is caused by some prevailing bug between Unity and Linux (I'm on a Mac). Will leave it as that, unless someone out there managed to get it working on a Linux/Mac.

@ntiem8r I think the problem is that Shift is already a modifier for the camera dolly movements (wasd). So pressing Shift-A is implicitly bound to "camera move far left". You might just be out of luck with binding Shift with any of the WASD. You could try Ctrl+A or try Shift+<something else>.

Hi, I had mapped Shift-A to Animals Tab. However, hitting on A also brings up the Animals Tab while at the same shifting the dolly to the left. I used the Keyboard Configuration at the Options Tab to define the keys. What did i do wrong?
