to anybody coming here now, I believe as of patch 1.9.7.11 (latest as of today), this is actually fixed in base game (yippeee!!!)

since kilburn is no longer working on the game, this bug will never be fixed. i'll try and refine this mod later and see if i can get it working more faithfully

unfortunately, that's intentional. there have been requests for them to change it on the bug tracker, so maybe they will.
