In 1.10 this mod is causing a CTD whenever I look at cultural overiew on the map or sometimes just looking at the culture of a pop. Here's the line from the crash log:

i'm not sure if this is only occur to me, when i complete meji restoration (peacefully) the capital is maebashi （前橋）not tokyo or edo, and i checked on map maebashi is quite distance from tokyo, just curious why designed like this ! ~

I thought you would like to know that the "Historical Japan" mod is broken for 1.8.7 due to states in India, leading to constant crashes, since the developer no longer has the time to support it. Wow. I knew about 大坂 vs 大阪, but I thought they were pronounced the same.
Another small thing: I see lots of characters have the macron (the line above a U or O to show a long vowel), but it isn't used for place names. I suppose it's not really important.

@Armandeus It's correct. Ozaka is the old name of Osaka during the Sengoku and Edo periods. In the mod, when Japan succeeds in achieving the Honorable Restoration, it will automatically be changed to Osaka.

@the1ringer You are right. You should not expect the variation. The ideologies of the leaders will be fixed when you use this mod.

Normally when I play Japan I restart until the leader of the shogun faction gets something other than traditionalist, preferably jingoism. Since your mod adds more historical characters, should I not expect that to vary now?

@FUN I have found the problem, it was Steam. Steam had refused to fully update the mod even though I had restarted my computer many times between now and then. I needed to completely delete the whole workshop folder and re-install the game to make it download this mod (the other mods downloaded fine, it was just this one that Steam struggled with)

@HazelFawn I have no idea because I didn't modify the building_relationship_marker. Can you reproduce the crash with a new campaign without any other mods?

Playing on the update you just released my game crashes when I click a building with this error message in the log.

The portrait issue is solved once I delete the common\history\characters folder

This mod seems to have a strange side effect on a few rulers' portraits. For example, Egypt's ruler loses his hat with this mod activated.

本Modの仕組みを他のModに応用していただくのは構いません。
dynamic_city_namesはマップ上の地名を動的に変更できますが、イベントなどマップ以外の場面では本来の地名がそのまま表示されますのでご注意ください。

dynamic_city_names の設定を拝借する事は可能でしょうか。
史実的かと言う話は別として、日本でのゲーム開始時に旧国名を参照するMODを検討しております。

KWjelly this happend to me too, deleting the gui folder from the modfolder fixed this in my case

Broken for me too, when I start a diplo play it shows empty windows/boxes for each theater and then crashed at the end of the week

Could there be compatibility issues with VFM? Every couple years I get an empty event in Kanto with no time limit and that I can't dismiss, they start to pile up...

In reality, samurai can include all ruling classes from generals to the most basic level of military and civil officers. Just as China names landlords and monks as 'scholars and literati,' landlords and the military should also be named as 'samurai/bushi'.

@bigetc1723 Thanks for your suggestions! The interest group flavor text descriptions are bugs. So I'll fix them in a future update. About the Japanese political parties, I also give them unique names. But it causes incompatibility issues with other mods.
