As much as I loved this mod, we can all adjust the party sizes manually. All credit to Opados on the Taleworlds forum for the fix:

"To change the bandit party sizes, I did the following:

Go to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData
Open the partyTemplates.xml file (using Notepad)
Play around with some numbers
Save and exit the file
Launch the game"


I did this myself and have progressively seen larger Looter parties, so far over 300. Have fun, y'all!

So. When's the update? First of all, I'm sorry.

Here's the thing - after putting many hours into the game, I got to the point where its unrealized potential made me move on from it, maybe hoping for something akin to CK with realtime battle was too high of a bar, but the game could have had so much more depth...
At this time I have no intention of getting back into the game or buying the new DLC.

Can't say I won't ever return to Bannerlord, moods can change after all, but for now I'm unsure when or if I will look into further updates for these mods. Some time off is around the corner, with Christmas looming, but in all honesty updating was mainly a chore to me lately.
I would be quite happy if someone more reliable were to take over and continue the support. (The code is available on GitHub.)

Thank you, everyone, who used these mods.
It was always a great honour to see these user counts.
I'm sorry that with this I will most likely end support for my Bannerlord mods.

I noticed with this mod playing or maybe some other mod related to it in relations to bandits. it seems the higher tier bandits are in the first wave for hideout raids and the lower tier ones are in the boss area for fights. is there a way to adjust that or something?

In the Realm of Thrones mod, removing the bandit faction has the following effects:

All hideouts are removed, and no new hideouts will spawn.

Certain bandit types will no longer appear in the game.

I'm not sure if this happens only in my game or if it's a general feature.

probably when a faction only has 1 town or castle and hideouts are set to 20 or 40 per faction,
so 40 hideout start spawning near the one town/castle a faction has?

Could always be some bandit party or hideout being bugged out - or if you set the hideout count to something ridiculous, maybe the game ran out of spawnable locations...

I managed to fix it by reinstalling the mod and deleting all bandits and hideouts from the game. Maybe there were too many of them idk but it works now :steamhappy:

Can't help you without any detail, see what @mr-mucho-Bueno stated, Better Exceptions Window often does give decent reports about what happened, though tbh I have no idea where you can upload them

also Sir Brownie, your crashes probably isn't from this mod since it works very good, try downloading "Better Exceptions Window" since it MIGHT give a more detailed crash report

I just wish the big bandit numbers didn't affect overall politics so much. When everyone is getting wrecked by bandits prosperity drops in cities due to lack of caravans, which results in overall kingdom prosperity being too low for them to declare wars. It also means you don't get the best items from towns.
Of course, it makes sense, but it'd be nice if caravans also adjusted to more powerful bandit parties. Maybe I should look into that and add a modifier for caravan party strength/size...

yeahhh as soon as i saw your reply"Remember that non-looter bandits only spawn around hideouts" next i see garios captured by mountain bandits, so the issue is kinda(100%) on me.

tweaked the settings a bit like you said and now it work very well, thanks for the support Sir Syrus

lol im having a a blast terrorizing everyone with my 700 man army,
currently using "adjustable leveling" and "Adjustable Bandits"

I played a bit today and did run into quite a few non-looter parties. Could just be that the area I was frequenting previously had more parties clearing out bandits.

Remember that non-looter bandits only spawn around hideouts and there is a separate limit for how many parties will be around a hideout, maybe increase those settings a little?

my problem is not the shortage of bandits, im having a lot of fun mowing down a 400 hordes of bandits everywhere i go.

its just that i only see looters bandit types, and all other types stopped spawning.

im currently using "Better Bandit Troop Tiers" that adds in "veterans respect" upgrade line to bandits, i'll try playing without it to see

Also, make sure you don't have the number of parties allowed in a hideout set too high, otherwise they will all sit in there and never leave

I'm running a campaign with the mod at the moment.
it really does seem that the number of bandit parties overall drops quite significantly after playing for a bit. There are two reasons I can imagine for this to happen, one "naturally", as in, parties defeat bandits, and/or bandits cluster up in regions where few parties pass.

Maybe there is a limit for how many bandit parties can spawn at the same time which I did not know about or has been added in a later patch. Will have to look into it at some point, but not right now

looter bandit presence seems normal to me, but whats abnormal is how mountain, forest, desert, and steppe bandit seem to have stopped spawning completely.

this is the only mod that alters bandit spawn btw

I was running it fine in my latest run, though I did notice that there were fewer looters than I would have expected.

A streamer I was watching said that "bandit parties often get stuck in hideouts" - so I would recommend not setting the number of bandit parties in hideouts too high, maybe that helps.

Dont use this mod for now. New bandits do not respawn. After few days none left.

I no longer see any bandit parties from hideouts. It's just looter parties roaming. I'm going to disable the mod and see how it changes things.

Also each bandit group has like 4.2 + average speed. More than a villager group. Even with 30+ bandit the group's speed is insane for bandits. I found a group of 80+ with 4.8 speed all Inf :beeped:

Something has happened. I can't seem to interact with the bandits, because my group follows them, but they never come close to initiate dialogue for combat or surrender.

I can't seem to get more than 40 bandits to spawn in the first stage of the hideout mission, but hundreds of bandits spawn in the second stage no matter what I do. I was wondering if it is a glitch, or if I need to wait for new bandit hideouts to spawn in? Thank you for the mod

Yeah, I was seeing the same results with increased bandit party numbers and sizes and just assumed it to be a problem with the economical collapse due to (village) trading parties getting destroyed by the bandits.
Unless someone can show me evidence to the contrary, I don't see it as a mod bug but rather an unfortunate side effect due to Bannerlord's easy to destroy economy

As the economy collapses kingdoms will become weaker and thus unwilling to fight each other or more likely to peace out whenever possible, preventing and shortening wars


Maybe it could be countered by strengthening trading parties with another mod, either just influencing the auto-caculation strength against bandits or making these parties spawn more powerful...

I've noticed this mod causes the kingdoms to not declare war on each other. Think it has something to do with available food in cities. Ive raised the bandit spawn rate and party size to ungodly levels but the AI seems focused on bandits and never go to war. Tuning them down causes food hoarding. I'm struggling to understand, this is my only mod.

@Syrus It's a shame. I've been looking for a mod like yours for a while now, but one that affects all units equally. I hope you can remote the game and carry out the modification.
