@YaBoiEmmy Aping hoi4's system is actually exactly what i wanted to do. However, 1.1 apparently is hitting the game's performance very hard. So i'm deprioritizing modding for vic3 for now.

Paradox also are very busy with the uh, early fixes, so their mod support for vic3 is a little lacking right now. Many functions that i'd love to have simply is not in the game. This btw is why many mods are hacky workarounds. That's literally all we could do with the tools we have rn.

I see, thank you. I misunderstood the line "Diploannexation takes time" in your description to mean that you intended that to be a mechanic. This is better than the vanilla system, obviously, but do you have intentions of creating an extension to this mod for diplomatically navigating the protectorate, dominion, subject, annex progression like I described (mirroring the mechanic of HOI4)?

You should but that is not a feature of the base game nor this mod.

I'm a bit confused about how to diplomatically merge Portugal (my protectorate) with Spain (me). I have maximum positive influence, but am not seeing a method of increasing control to dominion without essentially starting world war 4 by causing a diplomatic incident. My assumption is that I should be able to integrate them into a dominion with this mod, much like the state incorporation mechanic, no?

You mean a personal union? I could mod it so that is an option, though it would be a bit weird.

In a future update can you add ability to upgrade a puppet to a dominion? As well as downgrade a dominion to a puppet? Currently cant find a mod to change a puppet of mine to a dominion. Thanks

I feel like if you are going to do that just use the independence play, right?

would there be a way to allow subjects to make a play to become a more autonomous subject? like a colony forcing its overlord to give it more autonomy with the threat of revolt if they don't comply

This doesn't let me turn Puppets into Dominions does it? That's what I'm trying to do, and there's no way to make it happen.

Nice mod. If you could add the possibility for the subject to change their subjugation type by being a good boy, it would be even better.
