That is exactly one of the reasons this mod exists. And that duplication did happen for everyone, not just LWOTC users.

This mod uses a completely different method of retrieving the loot, much better.

Quick question: [WOTC] Loot Mind Control leads to duplicating corpses in full salvage missions in LWotC (Long War of the Chosen). Does this mod fix this behaviour, too?

@solvius90 - each loot is tied specifically to an enemy as part of its functioning to drop the loot.

You can change 'what' loot is dropped by each individual enemy however, by creating a loot table containing all the items you want and pointing each individual enemies loot entries to it.

How can edit in the config a universal drop chance for all enemies, and not for each one separately (sectoid, viper and others)?

Ok. Thanks. When i delete loot piñatas core started to drop normaly. As I understand it, in order for my loot to be varied, I need to register the chance of its drop in the config myself. And for each enemy separately. Damn, that's a lot of lines in the config. Although it’s not as difficult as with other games (like Original Sin 2 where you need to open a mod using a program, there are no simple configs)

You have probably diluted your loot pool with Loot Pinatas so you get a lot of random items instead of Elerium Cores. I would suggest you just remove it.

I can't figure out the loot. I have different mods for loot (psionics ex machina, mele attachments, suppressors, shield attachments, tela loot). And when I run mods for sorting loot (dude were is my loot, loot piñatas) my elerium cores are missing.
I want the loot to be varied. Can you recommend anything?

I probably won't be able to play XCOM for a little while, but I appreciate you working on this seemingly at my prodding. I guess that initial report was probably just my faulty memory or something. And on the off chance I do ever see anything like it again I'll take much more thorough note of what exactly happened.

Alright, Andromedons should be handled now. Couldn't reproduce any issues with other units.

Andromedon is a bit of a special case where the corpse drops from the second stage and the first stage does not have any loot so if you mind control the first stage you won't get loot and there's no easy way around that one without duplicating drops. Would have to make special handling for that, I might do that in a way where other such units can be added in config as well.

Other units not dropping their loot would be something else I would have to look into if you can give me more info about those if you run into any again.

I tried running the whole mission over again starting from the geoscape with only this mod enabled to see if that helped. It changed nothing though. Dominating the Andromedon still yielded no wreck. It is possible that the remnants of some other mod have messed up my save and I'd have to start from scratch to figure out what has a conflict with it, but I don't have a clue which mod could be interfering like that.

Tried again just now with an Andromedon that I dominated and didn't get an Andromedon Wreck upon the completion of the mission. I even double checked my save before and after the mission to see if it was just excluded from the after mission logs, but no I only have 1 before or after it. The save can be found at the link below. I tried completing the mission both with all the mods I have installed and then once more with only this mod. Both results were the same, though after disabling the mods it did give me an error message saying that things might not work since the save is from mid-mission.

Problem save. Destroy the shredded Gatekeeper and finish off a few Lost in the corner of the map near the Sharpshooter to end the mission:

There shouldn't be a limit like that. What kind of mission was it exactly? Did the objectives include killing everything? Did you get all other loot you should have? Did you evac any soldiers? Did the Sectopod stay hacked through the mission ending dialogs? Did you get the loot info text for the Sectopod in bottom right of the screen?

Odd. I ended a battle with a hacked Sectopod and didn't get the Sectopod Wreck but already moved way past that point in the campaign so I can't provide a save or anything. Is there a limit to how many distinct items you get after a mission?

It's literally the third bullet point in the list of fixes. It should be already handled and I tested it, as well as nobody else has reported it not working like that.

Is it possible to update the mod to grant corpses/wreckage of mind controlled/hacked enemies under control at the conclusion of missions? That's something -bg-'s mod advertised fixing that isn't handled in this mod.

Hello Zelfana. This may be a little off topic and not necessarily an issue with your mod.

Between when I played this game back in May 2022 during Odd's Season 7 campaign and Xmas 2022, something has happened that has completely stopped Advent from dropping any loot except Advent Datapads. They no longer drop weapon attachments or anything else for that matter, but the coding in CI and Weapon and Item Overhaul all seems to be fine from what I can tell with my very limited programmer knowledge.

I have run at least a dozen new games trying other loot mods (including yours), tried commenting out loot behaviour in some mods, reverting ALL my mods back to default, etc etc, and nothing is working.

Do you know if anything has changed since then? You seem to be the only mod author that I can tell that seems to be active in the community with loot drop knowledge and I'm hoping beyond hope that you might have some insight as to what is going on.

Nope, still can't get it to pick up loot.

Are you using any mods that modify the mimic beacon? It's not supposed to have the Loot ability at all. I could see it accidentally getting the Loot ability if the mimic beacon copied abilities over but it doesn't do that. It does copy inventory items (for visuals) so if someone put Loot on an item that could happen.

Either way it can't be caused by this mod. The loot being recovered when that happens is done by this mod but nothing about picking up loot is touched.

If it matters to reproducing the mimic beacon pickup, the beacon was there, then I killed the neighboring alien, then the mimic beacon knelt and grabbed the loot. I didn't throw a beacon onto a square with loot.

I can't reproduce mimic beacons picking up loot or having loot copied over from the user. Some other mod is messing something up.

Unless you meant the Templar Ghost which is not normally able to pick up loot at all but there are some mods that give it the Loot ability but in that case the loot being recovered is the desired effect.

Just picked up loot with a mimic beacon somehow and had it at the end of the mission!

I did notice an issue with corpse loot not working correctly but that should be fixed now.

Rulers/Chosen having escaped should not break loot recovery but if it does then it is out of my hands as it would affect all loot drops, not just these specific ones this mod is fixing.

That's not a bug I've been aware of. I will have to investigate what's happening with that one. May not be able to fix it, so don't get your hopes up.

Does this also fix the situation where an Alien King retreats through a summoned gateway? In vanilla this prevents any loot because there was technically an enemy you didn't kill on the map, even though they retreated.

I would expect this to work fine with LWOTC. I have reused code from the Highlander and it's unlikely LWOTC would have changed the relevant code. But try it out and let us know!
