I suspect a major cause of random crashes on mapgen is simply the inclusion of level 4 rituals. Ritpows are only really stable until level 3. Any rituals above that must be 'free', otherwise this can happen.

I would also like to add that you should make "high Ritual of Draconic Greed" level 2 and the grand one level 3 or else you wont be able to progress

can confirm, The method bellow works, you have to put all "Ritual of Draconic Greed" rituals at the top, you can just cut and paste them, and the mods works

I got it to fully work by editing the .c5m file to have all of the mastery rituals together at the top and changing every adult dragon to power 0 4. Should fix any ritual issues.

It's that they're level 3 ritual casters that can't learn level 4 rituals. They are incapable of gaining them. Their code needs to be "power 0 4"or have them promote to a creature that has it.

it was able to only use T3 rituals (it was able to get T4 rituals, but not able to actually see them and use them lol), but after changing its power to T4, it was able to also use T4 ones huh

@nyx I had some fun looking at your file and actually moving the high and grand rituals up to just below the two first ones helped and made the rituals available to my one of my dragons (for some reason lol)

Has not been fixed yet, no. Though I cannot say whether or not it's been abandoned. I can't speak for Nyx in that regard. I just know it was not fixed in the November 7th update.

Nah. It's a long-standing issue, not something that arose from a recent game update or anything.

I played some other mods and it looks like people have similar problems. Maybe current version of game doesn't work with mods?

technically speaking the Dracolich can't truly die, unless you own its lair when it tries to respawn

proper immortality though, is not likely to feature in this mod, and honestly is quite hard to achieve in Coe5

by the way it would be cool if you could make a immortal dragon, something that is hard to get.

I never played your version yet, it looks amazing and much more stuff to do. I will run it when you fix the dragon problem. I have not tried it yet, but by the looks of it you are having problems with it.

I get that lol I never could get far into the modding, myself. The most I was able to bring myself to do was add some rituals to some units in other mods, but these were basic, terrain altering rituals. "Usable only on this terrain, for this cost, to make it into this terrain." I already tried helping with this mod, but my issues don't seem to translate to Nyx's side lmao

potentially, could be something else. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it but I keep losing the willpower since the debugging tools available to modders are....obtuse as hell. Like trying to pilot a rocket with a blindfold on, where 80% of the time it all goes fine despite there being serious problems, then ~20% of the time the rocket ceases to exist without an explosion or anything so there's no real way to track what went wrong

I get it, but if you try to teach them all rituals, five times you spend money and nothing happens. so i persume those five time sre these five rituals.

The dragons ain't meant to be able to create eggs, to my knowledge. Primal, Void, and Infernal egg rituals are meant for the Prophets to upgrade normal eggs with, I do believe, and not the dragons, themselves. Then again, I never managed to get the proper draconic rituals, myself, as they always had the same ritual list as Prophets for me xD

Rituals for primal egg, void egg and infernal egg are invisible for dragons. They can learn them, but they are invisible.

Those invisible rituals are rituals for dragon creation.

Dragons have probably some invisible rituals. Sometimes when i try to learn new ritual you hear the sound, but nothing happens.

Ignore that. I saw in one game wyvern nest, that wasnt created by me and i stupidly persumed it is what is causing crashes during generation of map.

dracolich ritual requires a LOT of corpses present at the location, and to be done in very specific locations. if I ever get around to doing another update for this Il'll retouch the desc for it. As far as mapgen crashes, are you sure? Everything I have found seemed to indicate a broken ritual, not a tile-

Looks like added map tiles are cause of crash during map generation. Dragonlich ritual doesnt work or the description is pretty vague.

Interesting to see someone take my mod and expand upon it. Hopefully my initial mod was good inspiration and you have expanded upon it in some fun ways. Keep it up!

It'll do that, aye. I'm not actually sure what causes it, myself, but I tend to play around with the other settings and it'll usually eventually work. Manually selecting the age, size, other players, etc. One of those usually let's the game proceed.

Just straight up crashes when i select Dragon Priest as my race and start a single player game. Done it three times in a row on the "Swapping" message while creating the world.

still can't make dracoliches or elder dragons, HOW do dragons go from adult to elder, there doesn't seem to be a way.

I've not run into that issue, even after I've recruited a few dozen Heralds...

Perhaps to much data in the Dragon Herald or part of the Data glitches in the Dragon Herald. Or the recruitment place gets corrupted by getting to many Dragon Heralds cause it never seems to be the first few Dragon Heralds that glitches.

it doesn't even get logged, it just flat out crashes

I get around a 10% chance of crashing and closing the game. When I recruit a Dragon Herald. Repeats if I reload from a save. Sometimes when I reloading from a save. I can recruit them from a place other then the starting temple. Has failed at places other then the temple sometimes as well. I minimize the game somewhat often so that might effect it and reload from saves.

Ah, I must have been incredibly lucky with my first three-five games since I always had them then.

Uhm, where did the Empire building rituals go? I don't see any of them on the prophets list anymore.

Yeah, still the level 1 and 2 rituals for my test Dusk, Fire, and Frost dragons.

I assume that Techerakh loaded an older save, because mod updates tend to break saves from previous versions.

I haven't seen what techerakh has for my new games. I don't think the fix worked unfortunately. Still no level 3 rituals for adult dragons.
