It must have been, because after I posted that last comment I began to realize the certain completely random selection of assets were no longer detected, or present on my computer... the only thing that fixed it was finally just adding 1000 of my mods to a collection, favoriting the other 200, unsubbing, uninstalling, reinstalling, resubbing... complete pain in the ass but here I am with the game working again indeed, and my save intact.

@DoubleBungus Most likely the Steam bug where it randomly deletes mods that you're still subscribed to.

Update: Simply uninstalling and reinstalling the mod seems to have caused it to enable. It wasn't kicking in during map load; now it is. Who knows, nothing changed while I was asleep.

Between last night and this morning, loading screen mod is suddenly not working... any ideas?

@Kombat Wombat Could be anything. Your Player.log might have some clues if it's a game issue.

Wondering if this will help with a specific in-game problem. After about 15-20 minutes, almost exactly every single time, I get the Mac OSX Spinning Wheel of Death which renders things unplayable. Would this mod show if it's a game/mod issue, as opposed to a hardware issue?

@vic.foras Yes (although there won't be a memory usage display on the loading screen, as Linux doesn't support that - but that's cosmetic only and doesn't affect the functioning of the mod).

@atelier.aks The latest game version update only contained minor changes for new content; absolutely nothing was changed in the game regarding memory handling or the loading process. Likewise for the latest mod update. The testing for this mod for the update confirmed that there was no change in memory use patterns on Linux. So whatever has caused your change would be something else in your system, not the game or the mod.

I'm not talking about the cosmetic issue, but about the effective functionality.

Before version 1.20.1-f1, on my operating system (Linux) RAM was 80% occupied, swap memory 0% and Loading Screen Mod had no effect. After version 1.20.1-f1 RAM is 100% and swap starts to be populated and with Loading Screen Mod RAM is 80% and swap busy during saves.

Obviously, the same content (save), without other variables

I don't assume the effect comes from the mod but from the game version, more specifically the Linux version 1.20.1-f1

@atelier.aks It always did; the issue with Linux is that the live memory usage display on the loading screen isn't there because Linux doesn't provide the necessary API support.

This is a cosmetic issue only and doesn't change the functionality of the mod; it just means that Windows users can see a live value of the amount of memory used by the game (and the rest of the system) as it loads, whereas Linux and Mac users don't get that.

@afmjr28 your error message is the same as when any other error occurs. It basically means "the game logic expected <something>, but <nothing> was found.

@afmjr28 That is a generic error that can be caused by anything, but is usually because you've subscribed to an older mod that no longer works. Because it's so generic it's impossible to diagnose accurately without seeing a full output log; you are best off going to a generic CS support forum instead of posting on mod Workshop pages.

Additionally, if you're ever trying to troubleshoot and ask for help, everyone is going to assume you have LSM installed. If for no other reason that to conform to the standard that people expect, you should install this mod.

If you want to check for mod errors - this is the mod to do it. Features logging of game assets (check options) of vanilla, DLC or mods, which is awesome identifying problems. 10/10 mod.

You can still disable unwanted game content of various types, and texture sharing may still help for default assets.

@G1NT This mod is no different from other mods. When you use any mod, achievements are disabled by default. Use the Game Anarchy mod to re-enable them.
