Could be; it's the best i can do and the crash only seems to happen in obscure situations

Always possible the mod is outdated. It's been a few years, and FU could have updated a few times since then

there may be a color crash relating to some other blocks like smooth stone or some precursor ones but i cant seem to figure out the exact conditions or mods yet.
