Not asking to be airtight But i know thatl vannila passage can be if you put glass on model open area you can make it airtight.
@Marnok I´ve also thought about these, and i´d love to make them happen. Can´t promiss anything tho, as blocks with multiple functionalities are not possible nwithout more heavy modding.
@Your Pal Deebs Possible, but I might be affraid youwould look at an engineer head and foot stick out of them as they are even smaller inside then my crouchy ones.^^
@mikejminer Thank you! I don`t know how the ai´s pathing behaves in SE or if they can even walk through a block that allows this.
I'll be cheeky and drop a suggestion for connectors with opening doors! Also walkable pistons. Then we can have extending docking tubes!
The only problem that i see remainng is that there would be no real access points throughout the ship to get into the conveyor system, else you need to grind your way in and out.
@ThePhoenixKnight I would love to solve this in a way that let the blocks be pressurized inside and airtight on the outside, if this is not going to work i can add a set of airtight conveyors.
@Mr.Riggs There are two version of the conveyors, one walkable the other not, check if you haven`t accidentally placed the wrong one.
Ladders are not really working in the tight spaces of this blocks so I decided to work on a new set of 'conveyor' blocks which will have nearly all their volume walkable and they will look like cliche vent ducts :) soon tm
Another problem is the functionality of blocks, i cant make them ladder conveyor and door at the same time unless i create a 'Laddoor-veyor tm' block which can do exactly this. (Or block in block possibilities plz Keen)
Would it really be purely cosmetic...?
Well, I'm not sure it would work the way I think. But consider the various encounters-type mods out there that add not only NPC creatures, bots and other enemies, but also NPC ships, bases, stations and defended/infested wrecks - mods such as MES Wreckage .
These ships, bases and stations use vanilla parts - stuff like conveyors. So if there was a mod like this that replaced vanilla conveyors, then... wouldn't that force the blueprints used in such encounters to use them? And wouldn't this allow players to walk through the conveyors they use?
Can't wait to see what comes next!
@CTH2004 I didn`t want them to be airtight without having a 'door' block as an airlock. Also not making them airtight actually should give them atmosphere inside to breath, they just do need to be surrounded by airtight blocks. Because like kickformoney said thats not how airtighness works in SE. The only exception beeing doors which can switch pressurization on certain mountpoints aka. sides.
I´ll propably try some stuff but i cant make every block a door, because then blocks would need to be a conveyor, a ladder and a door at the same time which SE definitly doesn`t like.
@RMazer I don`t think it`s, you would only be able to walk through the hinge at very limited angels or walk through the walls at other angels.
Bingo!
This is a cool block, I really like this idea.
not sure how feasible that is, and if it isn't, ah well. still a great mod!
@ViccyQ I can understand, but I personally am not taking my sci-fy video game that serious. It wouldn`t be hard to remove the conveyor functionality tho so i might do a just walkable version.
Also you can put down two system, one for you and one for your cargo, im not forcing you to transfer items throught this conveyors.
@Thundercraft No they don`t, I would explicitly state this in the mods description if it were the case, as i would expect every modder to do so.
I am planning for integrated ladders and access points in the form of vent/cargo containers or hidden doors. There are a bunch of possible implementations alone for vents, as a door or busted open for all the alien fanboys e.g.
I am also thinking about a classic air vent style that would be much easier to traverse because of its thin walls. Especially if ladders are not going to work well in the tight spaces of this conveyor system.
And maybe other styles in the future, looking at you alien fanboys again :)
In reality, you would be crushed, stabbed, smushed, shredded inside a real conveyor system.
The entire purpose is to move objects in between the tubes for other specific blocks.
Idk stuff like this kills immersion for me and feels cheap. To each their own.
2. Do you plan any walk-able rotors/hinges/pistons that will fit same style?
