The aircraft autopilot is operated mostly with a single button, key 5. The autopilot has 2 main modes, Cruise AP (half AP) and Waypoint Nav (full AP). Both modes support using long press of the A/D keys to disconnect the autopilot.
By default, hitting the 5 key enables cruise AP. In cruise AP, the W/S keys adjust vertical speed, and the Left/Right arrows are used to make coordinated turns. If the AP is overridden in this mode, just press 5 to re-enable the autopilot.
When a route is loaded into the navigation MFD page and the “A” button is selected, the waypoint nav autopilot mode is enabled. In this mode, W/S can be used to adjust vertical speed, but the course is adjusted by the navigation system. Using A/D to disconnect the AP is supported. If the AP is disconnected and you would like to resume your route, hit the 5 key to reset the system and disable AP override.
