I like how this sounds
I'm also toying with the idea of having ONLY the tier 1 gloves drop. And then you use X tier 1 gloves to make 1 tier 2 glove. And then Y tier 2 gloves to make 1 tier 3 glove.
Another idea is to get rid of the tier 1 and 2 versions and introduce a weightless Boxing Glove Fabric item that drops off zombies and X of them can be used to craft 1 Boxing Glove (which is just a tier 3 glove).
Whatever I end up doing, I want the host to still have quite a bit of control over their experience (but like you're mentioning, the default experience is most important and I need to tune that better).
- I think low tier fixing high tier is great
- maybe if i repair with 2 T2 or 4 T1 gloves then only 50% health
- if no gloves, maybe homemade gloves
- T1 HM, Pillow, tape, and any type of glove (For every Tier, it needs gloves)
- T2 HM, Plank, any gloves 3 nails, tape (Brass knuckle i guess)
- T3 HM, Small metal sheet, welding stuff, any gloves, tape (Also a brass knuckle)
- IK modding takes forever and the HM gloves may be outlandish
- Using just leather straps, a needle, and thread is to OP, I think maybe you could make it so like it does +10 condition
- Have a good day sir!
- Take this bleach covered dead rotten rat

I am not super happy with that right now and I'd like to tweak it in the future, but I'm not sure what would be appropriate. I do like the idea of using the lower tier gloves to repair the high tier ones though.
The next thing I work on for this mod will be to give the server host the ability to modify the weapons' stats in their in-game settings. I'm not sure if I'll be able to modify the repair recipes like that though.
What do you think would be appropriate for repairing them?
It would just be a way to beat up friends without causing damage, just for roleplay.
