What range equation did you use? I tried my own but the range value oscillates all over the place.

@BlockCraftTV Sorry for the late response ! The numbers on the console tells the distance (in km) represented between the sonar (center of the screen) and the outermost circle on the screen.

@amiga87', the sonar works great!. the only problem i have with it is that is paints two white lines one stright up and one straight down. this is not beacus other boats are in the area it alwys happens. i think it is the own eng/prop that is cousing this can you make the sonar not detect its own eng/prop, (just a distance thing)

This is great, It is almost perfect. If you accep suggestions, it has room for improvement.
*One switch for monitor ON, shows passive sonar only.
*Another switch / Button for active sonar mode.
*Grey and white for targets are quite similar. I suggest to use the same color pattern as echo sounders: the deeper objects are shown redish-orange. Objects above are shown as light blue. Objects at same level are white. Apart of that nothing to say. You've done a great job. The sound of the ping is spot on.

@Stake From JateFarm™ Everything works on 1x1, 2x2 and 3x3... Except for the background which is a still image. However, the background script is separate from the rest so you can easily create your own custom background with tools like Image to LUA Tool by Crazy Fluffy Pony: https://image-to-lua.flaffipony.rocks/

@TaliaKuznetsova There is no passive mode, but I guess you can run the ping input of the sonar through a gate and switch: that way you can disable the active ping when not needed and still keep the screen on.

Yes and no: I found a way to filter out engine noises, but it removes them completely (your ship and those around). So I preferred not to filter the loud noises. I don't have much time this afternoon but I think I'll make this option available soon :)

The speed of the vehicle is not taken into account, but I guess it's still relatively accurate at low speeds: I didn't notice any inaccuracies with my U-boat at ~16knots. The part is still pretty new and I don't know how much this parameter affects the sonar...

@Nuerovin The sonar can be place anywhere relative to the console, but it needs to be oriented the same way as in the example build :)
