Wasn't there a much newer chrome trailer frame mod? I can't find it anywhere now.

How do you paint the reefer?

It looks like you've pretty much abandoned this mod but if you ever decide to update it I have one request. Will you please change the rubber bumpers on back from chrome to black.

@WombleFlopper sorry, I can't. Neither do I develop it actively anymore, nor does it work like that. To avoid overwriting the SCS trailer chassis, I decided to lnk the side to the door. This made the mod more stable against future changes by SCS.

Can you make it so that you can get the chrome sides without having the rear door be chrome? I'm trying to get the skin for Bottomley to be as it is IRL with the chrome trailer sides and the logo on the door but there isn't an option to keep the door painted.

@SmokeStack_684 – No worries. I could imagine doing that. But at the moment I need to manage my resources. This mod is not under active development as of now. To be honest I intended it to be as low-effort as possible, and I am happy that it obviously works without further adaption after recent game updates.

I know a lot of people have ideas for you and I don't mean to be one of them. But it bugs me that the (SCS) sliding tarp trailer has a dull aluminum front on it . All of the real ones I've ever seen are polished to look like chrome. Do you think you could do something with that trailer? Just asking.

@Randy Purdue – It's been a while since I worked on it. My approach was not to need to unnecessarily overwrite SCS models. This comes with constraints.

@mpie is it possible to choose no chrome frame w/o removing the mod, really like what you have created, but would like to make one where I can paint the trim where the chrome is, just getting started modding/making paints, also would like to try putting some lights across the front of the trailer.

@sashalassemblee, sorry, I did not respond for some time. – I just went to trailer purchase in 1.45, choose e.g. the "Insulated, chrome frame", and the frame is chrome, not dull grey.

I wonder if anybody else has this problem. Is it possible you have other mods that modify the SCS stock trailers?

yeah i created a new profile for 1.44, when i go into trailer dealer and choose one trailer that has your option on it, it doesn't shows the chrome on trailer, but i can still use the red dot

@sasha - Does this also happen if you take a new trailer, and choose these chrome parts?

i'm using this mod with version 1.44, the default option are now called "chrome frame" but it's not, it's still the ugly grey from scs, the custom marker are still there tho, but it needs to update

@Andrés_teo – Still I see no issue. But I had another glitch where I had to re-subscribe to even see the mod at all.

@ReaporOfDeath – Since it's the SCS trailer, you can use the default template. You can find them e.g. in the Roadside Studio discord, who are the makers of mod studio.

well thank you for the answer but also if i decided to make a skin for the trailer as well would you by any chance have a template i can use maybe?

@ReaporOfDeath -- I tried to limit the number of models I have to override to keep it fairly maintainable. That unfortunately means that we don't have additional attachment points. And because of that this mod simply overrides the standard box model, but can't offer different options. A black or painted one would need to be another mod you use with higher priority. Or I'd have to redirect the use of another part, as I have done with the rear door to enable chromed walls. But that feels odd. And it's not possible to combine all the options as well. At some point one would need to override all the chassis options to add attachment points for better usuability, but that's beyond the scope I had in mind. -- Since I did this mod primarily for myself, I don't plan to extend it much further.

@Machinomancer - I'm not sure, yet, if and how. It could be a different mod. Or I could once again redirect the use of the rear door to include other parts. This doesn't feel too well, but it's an approach that significantly limits the number of models I have to override just to add attachment points. I'll think about it. A painted frame version as well.

One bug I've found is that the bump stops on the bumpers are chrome instead of black, these are made of rubber and its a bit strange to see them chrome lol.

Also would be cool to see the standard bumper get a chrome variant, hopefully with properly textured rubber bump stops lol
