For some reason this mode removed all christian title icons on the map. No new religion mods

I'm using the cleanslate version of Ancient Religions Reborn and Holmgardr can't use rivers.
Norse noble with Slavic religion.
Perhaps "ECNR - CleanSlate" is the way ahead?

@Noody Can I ask why? Did you have a compatibility issue?

@SpectralPanda I used the most recent HIP mod from the forums with SWMH and EMF. I would also think that you can just copy paste the religion lines from the HIP mod and then just simply add the lines that gives them the river ability.

@Interesting2752 Are there multiple HIP mods? I just used the one on the workshop and it seemed to work fine. If it doesn't work for you I am very sorry but I don't know how to make a compatibility patch.

@SpectralPanda That's strange, because when I use the mod with HIP, all of the HIP mods suddenly get replaced with noreligion and they're unavailable to play as.

@Interesting2752 I just tried it out and it seems to work fine!

Does this mod work with HIP?
SpectralPanda  [作者] 2022 年 2 月 3 日 下午 2:24
@SirChurchill sort of? I just tried it and all of the base game religions (Catholic, Sunni, Orthodox etc.) can navigate rivers and the new religions (Protestant and Reformed) can't. It won't crash your game or anything but idk how to mod religions added by other mods

does this work with the mod modern times?

Throughout Europe during that time most of European naval technology was effectively derived from Roman galleys and other Mediterranean craft. These medieval craft were large and cumbersome. The Viking longboat on the other hand featured a deep keelboard to provide stability, a relatively narrow silhouette which among other things, allowed it to be taken down rivers and was light enough to be beached without damaging the hull. They had vastly superior naval technology and were generally better sailors.

A longship is a fast and versatile ship, relatively sea worthy for the time (especially the somewhat heavier norwegian models) and with a very shallow draft which allowed navigation of rivers inaccessible to heavier types of ships. A longship can reach speeds up to 15 knots which was unmatched at the time (though a more common speed was probably 5-10 knots). The versatility of the longship combined with the relatively advanced navigation is what enabled the vikings to raid, trade and settle such vast areas. (3/3)

This led to relatively rapid naval architectural and navigational inventions. A few of the most famous ones include the longship, the half wheel and the sunstone which, along with a lifetime of developing a sense of currents, speeds and distances traveled, allowed the Norse to navigate very accurately for the time. (to those unfamiliar with sunstones and half wheels, they are navigational aids. A sunstone is a type of quartz that polarizes the light. If held up against the sky. or over a flat surface, it will refract the light differently depending on how high the sun is in the sky causing it to take on different colours. This allows you to roughly gauge how high the sun is in the sky even if it's cloudy. A half wheel is a kind of sun-diameter which allows you to determine latitude and compass heading to within about 5 degrees). (2/3)

What magic power do Norse boats have that lets them go where no other religion can?

Well, norse peoples had a strong naval tradition. The sea and sailing was very important to them for several reasons. Fishing was an important source of food but sailing was an absolute nessecity for trade or travel. Scandinavia was vast, largely consisting of rough terrain and relatively sparesly populated compared to the rest of Europe at the time. If you wanted to get somewhere you got there by boat. This of course fostered a strong naval tradition by nessectiy. Added to this, almost every major settlement in Scandinavia was by the sea or a major waterway. People lived very close to the sea. as a Norse raider main, I find this mod to be extremly offensive and culturally appropriating, please remove before I am forced to loot your capitol and take your wife as my concubine.

@TheCrackedCoconut I just tried without Old Gods and without Holy Fury, it worked fine.
