Can I tempt you into updating to b42? I have TMRadio launching after I run a couple of tests with a work around for True Music. This is my favorite track list. The only thing you need to do is make the common and 42 directories, dump everything into the 42 directory and delete all the spawn locations in the server/items files that try to spawn in wardrobes.

I just need to tell you this mod is my absolute favorite mod. It makes the whole game experience so much better (and Zomboid is already a great game). Nothing is better than listening to time-accurate music in your base, or while trying to kill a bunch of zombies without dying. I have never felt more peace than when sitting down to listen to a track in zomboid while reading a book.

I hope it's fine that I post this here, but I've made a mod called More Time-Period Accurate Music that aims to add more time-period accurate music to the game alongside this mod. Not that many songs yet but I am gradually adding more. Also taking requests.

I love this mod however i keep the majority of my cassettes in my fanny-pack and these cassettes weigh 10x more so i cant store them is there a simple change instead of individually changing weight values in debug mode?

Great mod! My main complaint is that when I go looting I find music like...EVERYWHERE... I wish there was a way to control the spawns because they are way out of hand. It feels like I am finding 5 cassette tapes in every drawer I loot. Sadly had to turn it off just because of how out of wack the loot spawns are for it.

I think this is my favorite mod of all time. Never had I so much fun as while listening to Metallica and slapping zombies with a baseball bat

This mod is great but I have one major issue & that's that I can't control the spawn rate and now my loot pools are mostly casettes. It extra hurts me with where they spawn most regularily being the same loot pool guns most commonly spawn in.

Nothing more I needed, thx for makeing "enough" music will finally fancy track pictures.

Unfortunately I am indefinitely halting updates on Time-Period Accurate Music.
Maintaining a playlist that relies on the functionality of two other mods and is at risk of being taken down is really not worth it for me.
I still have a passion for modding and still want to create more original mods.

Same here, it does not spawn any music in multiplayer servers, at least with me.

Help. The mod does not work for me on a multiplayer server. I already installed and reinstalled.
I already deleted the mod files and downloaded them again. It does not work.

For those who want to see vinyls and cassettes be a little more challenging to collect, you can edit the Lua files with notepad. Just replace the existing drop weights (numbers like 0.1 or 0.5) with something smaller (0.01 or 0.05). The files you want to change will be called something like TCGLoadingTCBoombox2717792692 for cassettes, and TCGLoadingTCVinylplayer2717792692 for vinyls.

There will be 2 locations for each file, and both must be changed for the server to load for multiplayer (didn't test single player). For me, these locations are -

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2717792692\mods\Time-Period Accurate Music\media\lua\server\Items

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2717792692\mods\Time-Period Accurate Music\media\lua\server\Items

As far as I can tell, all players on a server would need to replace their copies of the file with the ones you change. Good luck!

quick question, when you made this did you change the file names to include the words 'vinyl' and 'cassette' in their respective folders? and put all songs in both folders? (asking as I'm on the verge of publishing my own and want to follow the same format) - side note, excellent work here, really appreciated. Trying to do this properly I have really realised how much effort you put in. mine is 51 tracks and has taken hours lol. Also, mine will not be copying or duplicating the work you've put in, just filling in some gaps for personal taste.

@Brock I believe that the playlist advertised on this mod page combines the music of both TCCache and this mod. I remember back in 2022 looking for some of these tracks on a server that didn't have TCCache installed, and never finding them.

Actually after looking closer, SEVERAL tracks have completely vanished randomly.

This is a wonderful mod, however I noticed Heartaches By The Number by Guy Mitchell just straight up vanished from the mod randomly.

Came to mention the sheer flood of lootable records and tapes, so I guess I'll just throw my hat in lmao. Seems a lot of people find it a bit much. I tried putting the loot tables down to extremely rare on everything, and I'm still finding 3-5 per container, and often I can find a dozen per house.

This mod is amazing! I do agree with user 4 4Ever on the over abundance of records and cassette tapes. But mostly I wish the music would help the boredom/sadness status like it does with the vanilla CDs. I like to have it playing while doing work around the base and it only seems right that it would do that.

I still use the mod anyway, it definitely adds a lot to the immersion.

I really, really, really would like to use the mod but just as other people said, the loot abundance is too much of a killer for me

one solution would be to make the items follow one of the vanilla categories, so the vanilla settings would work on the cd spawns

other solution would be to create mod settings

Hi! Great mod, it fits the game well and I enjoyed it very much.

A suggestion, I found the tape for Nena - 99 Luftballons and realized it was in English, I know the game is supposed to take place in US in the 90s but according to wiki "In the US, the English-language version did not chart, while the German-language recording became Nena's only US hit." - the German version was also a hit in Europe and Japan (not the English, and TBH I didn't even know it had an English version!)

So I think having the song in German makes much more sense here. Would you be willing to update this tape to the German version?
