if 4K is too much for sfm then why you don't try 2k?
it can be really useful and can work without any issues
But unless sfm has an in-game command to let me change the source vtm on a model I don't think that's gonna work. Might just have to back up the original every time I use this.
Something like the dropplets are hugely oversized on the models I've tried it on
And yes, meant to be used in $bumpmap
You should check out some tutorials for all that software. Good luck!
Like just using add override materials?
Remember use VTFedit to paste the code at the end of your vmt file and specify in "$bumpmap" which one of the bumpmaps you want to use.
Dont forget to check the example vmt in the description.
You can use other software to combine them, Blender for example.
So yeah, pro-tip for anyone having trouble with applying the textures - make sure the model you're trying to use doesn't have multiple versions installed, especially if both versions pull from similarly named texture folders, since SFM will default to the folder that's higher-up in your "game" hierarchy.
Tried moving the proxy to a different position in the file, didn't do anything. I even tried once more to just directly link one of the textures to a $bumpmap line in the vmt file itself, rather than using a material override. I've gotten no results. The best I've been able to do is make the textures show up as a still frame.
