Anyway we could keep it at 100% (or more) up to about 20 km/h and then have it drop off like the chart above? I find that turning at slower speeds is not fast enough and sometimes can cause you to almost come to a stop to be able to turn the wheel enough to be able to make the turn.

Heads up to anyone reading this, if you have been having issues with this working make sure you do what @mpie mentioned last year. It still works you just need to have it higher up than other physics mods on the load order.

Was trying to figure out what was wrong with mine and then saw their comment. Its all fixed for me after moving it higher up on my load order. I currently have it 2nd on my list, other physics mods still work as well.

Keyboard Only Steering player.

Thank you very much for the mod. I have been struggling to find a suitable sensitivity for both Long Drives and Parking Maneuvers.

Hint For Keyboard Players (you can choose not to consider).
Set "Steering Animation Range" to 90 deg. That way you will (when in 1st Person view) know approximately how much your Front Wheels have turned and tweak the "Steering" settings value based on how fast the wheels are turning.
Do not worry about tweaking Steering Sensitivity more than 0.50. Even with higher values your Long Drives will still be smooth.
Respect the Road Speed Limit, it is there for a reason.
Use Cruise control and all its features available in game.

Thanks for a great mod. I have been fighting the steering for a long time resulting in some accidents. As you did I kept adjusting the settings, but couldn't get it right. Now, thanks to your mod and can drive like I'm sober!

Working on 1.53. I'm using a controller and this made such a big difference!

So do I just set the game to default settings and install mod? Or am I setting up a particular set up? I did not see anything in description showing what the settings should be. Or does it not matter with this mod installed?

I fixed my issue with the setting steering non-linearity that saved me. this mod was preventing me from driving like a mad man i kept crashing if a corner was arriving to fast hehe. but steering non-linearity makes it smoother

@Big Panda, with a gamepad linearity is not considered at all, I think. The steering wheel position is calculated based on thumb stick input and auto-center forces. The position of the stick represents the force to turn the steering wheel, not the exact steering wheel position, if I remember correctly. I found a forums discussion way back when I was researching this.

How does the leanarity setting fit in????

Thank you for this mod, it is much better than default now. In default steering it's impossible to find balance, I always ended with understeering at low speeds. To me, at very high speed it's maybe a little bit too insensitive, it was difficult to adjust in the beginning.

Will this stop the steering wheel from going crazy at any speed. I use my mouse to steer with and out of the blue when least expected it goes nuts. Setting I've been running with has been under between 800 and 875. I'll give this mod a try and see how it goes.

at fast driving, steering and returning will be slow ( be more sensitive )
at slow driving, steering and returning will be close to default game value ( not the same but sensitive little bit )
if need to change sensitivity, change the steer sensitivity of the game's option. It will be helpful.

Does it matter what the steering non-linearity is set to? Or does this automatically override it?

@jakefox93272620gaming, no, I think a wheel doesn't react to sensitivity. Also, that's great, if you have a wheel available! :) It's even better than controller steering!
