I would not use this at all tbh. There’s better ballistic calculators out there

Will this help me hit stuff with my gustav gun? it cant turn without a turn in the track so ive been trying to find something that will help calculate where the bertha shells will land because otherwise i cant hit ♥♥♥♥, its only elevation and no yaw control, and if not anyone know of a controller that will help?

possible to make an mc that just makes a tank's cannon elevate to compensate for range of target (for a tank with laser rangefinder) no radars or anything

would you be able to add the rocket pod to the micro controller?
I was afraid of that. I'm hoping we see some changes to the default accuracy though soon. I'm tired of the zip code size spread.
@Hardylivin I know what you’re talking about, but it’s just too complicated. I think the spread changes with the location you spawn at.
Are you familiar with a micro controller that maps out each guns projectile spread and adjusts the turret to allow pin point hits? I was told someone made something like that? Being able to mount that inline with a calculator like this would be deadly.

thank you, this is very useful for me

@smithy Thx bro

@V1 Instead of uploading another creation, I just updated an older SPAA of mine with a lead calculator I've been working on. It'll be somewhere in the biggest micro-controller underneath the turret, keep in mind this MC has also got some other stuff in it like missile guidance and an autoloader.

can you make one that calculates lead? (the balistic calc works great other wise)

Hey (SDI)SSgt.Wolf, if you're asking how to have a turret follow a target in the yaw axis, it depends on the setup. If the radar is on a velocity-type turret base and yaws with it, I would just setup a PID with a setpoint of zero and a process variable of the radar azimuth (composite no. 2) that adds to the seat controls. If the radar does not yaw with the velocity-type turret I would convert to radians and make the radar azimuth the setpoint of a PID and the turrets current rotation the process variable.

I do not understand trigonometry, so this to me is quite impressive, I don't even know how to separate the yaw from the pitch with radars in this game then again, I only have like 80 hours in this game over the course of about 2 years. How would one go about converting this to the yaw lead of a target?
@unforgiven3091 you could try fixing this by lowering the speed of the bullet in the MC, but keep in mind this doesn't account for wind resistance so it's always going to undershoot at great distances.
it seems to be undershooting for me
pls dont bully me if i mis a bow
oh smart, you used the rotation of the radar to create a reference point, i was just using 2 radars kekw
Solar 2021
@SMITHY thanks, that worked very well. However there is still something that I've been wondering about. Would you know how I could go about creating a gun that has lead guidance and shoots before moving targets to the bullets hit in mid air? Are there any simple formulas or scripts that I could copy down, or would it be much more complex?
when i read this i didnt think i'd have to do math to figure what the crap you are talking about
oh god the horror
holy heck, I'm glad I didnt have to figure this one out myself, I have been spending the last 2 weeks trying to figure out quartic roots with no luck, great job dude/dudette!

@Solar I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but if it's how can I manually tweak the radar tracking angle on the fly for a velocity pivot? You could make a simple function where you add the desired adjustments to the output meant for the robotic pivot (x+(pi/2)*y) and then make this the setpoint of a PID where the process variable is the current angle of the velocity pivot.

Hi, I was recently using a ballistic calculator similar to this one and I ran into an issue. I wanted both radar tracking and an elevation correction, but elevation correction goes to a robotic pivot and the pitch value from the radar is meant to go to a velocity pivot. Is there any possible way that I could have a gun that tracks with the new radars, but at the same time uses a ballistic calculator to hit long range targets?
@Vars I don't know if it is possible to model rockets using this calculator, because it assumes that the projectile is ballistic opposed to a rocket motor accelerating the projectile. It may be possible if you know the length of burn and the acceleration caused by the motor, or the length of burn and final velocity after acceleration.

Can I modify this so you can use rockets Or just make so it input th bare numbers for future proofing?

can you do my math homework?
@NubNub No, this only considers the vertical component of the projectile so it can't calculate lead. It does consider shell drop and differences in height and adjusts the elevation of the gun accordingly.
Does it calculate lead?
@orenj jues

Sure have a look at this Test-bed
Would be nice to see a test vehicle for this so it's easier to learn about it and set it up.
