The class image is not transparent resulting in a black box surrounding the class image, was that intentional?

@Kelvae The mod @TrooperCoon is referring to is [WOTC] Custom Hero Class Icon Support which will replace all the areas in the UI where it showed the default faction flag class icon with the custom class's class icon. Since your current custom class icon is a blank image, it is showing a blank image in all those places. With this new mod, if you wished to give your custom class a fancy icon it will now display properly throughout the UI.

it seems like the skirmisher knight's icon is blank when using custom hero class icon
the mod enables custom faction hero classes to get their own unique class icons instead of the base skirmisher class icon, can you look into it?

@Jokerke I've not tested this with True Primary Secondaries so that could be the problem... But it wouldn't affect shields. I suspect there's some other mod conflict involved.

My Skirmisher Knight can't equip swords nor shields. I'm using RPGO and I have True Primary Secondaries instead of regular Primary Secondaries.

@The Worst I have a 95% complete Reaper Class from around when I made this, but I couldn't get one ability to work, got frustrated, and quit haha. It's a monk. I might go back and finish it next time I get into XCom 2 again.

As for RPGO I could make on pretty easily, I'm not sure why I didn't, but I think maybe I used a couple abilities from this class to pad out the melee part of the Archmage one. I could at least make one spec line.

I see! That's interesting for a Concept, though I admit it does seem/feel a little, 'off/out-of-place', when abilities and mechanics for the Skirmisher Knight refers to Psionics/Templar mechanics, especially as the class itself isn't really a, 'Psionic', class.

@Father Business It uses perks from Stormrider, so it needs to be installed and enabled, same with Templar Mage. You can disable those classes using the method I describe at the end of the description if you wish.

The Templar Mage mod replaces the OG caster gauntlets mod, I've honestly never tested it with the OG caster gauntlet mod enabled, so I dunno what would happen, but there's no need for it at all.

The Skirmisher Knight uses focus like a Templar yes, they gain focus on kills and it gives them the stat bonuses and damage to their abilities, and some of their abilities require focus to be spent.

Does this mod 'require' the Stormrider mod to be installed and enabled? Or can I use this mod without needing Stormrider installed, it just uses code/perks that was also used in Stormrider?

I also see that Templar Mage is set as 'required', is it required?

Also, with Templar Mage, do I need to have the original mod for Caster Gauntlets to be installed for Templar Mage to work? If I have the OG Caster Gauntlet mod installed, does your mod in turn merely overwrite it and can safely be played with both active/installed?


Also, the ability descriptions mention, 'Focus', with the Skirmisher Knight's abilities.. does the class work with a similar Focus system like the Templar/Templar Mage?

@TrooperCoon Nope, specifically can't use swords or similar items in the off hand. Either Empty or Shield. You can certainly change that in the config if you want, but it was for balance reasons.

so i'm guessing even with ballistic shield as a requirement, i can still make this guy dual wield with dual wield melee?

Well, I switched to Primary Secondaries, and it half worked, the Skirmisher got a sword but no shield. Must be another conflict, if I find out I'll tell it here

@pezito2001 so I took a look at True Primary Secondaries, and it already accounts for that

Which removes the part of the string that normal primary secondaries requires, so it should work....

Now that I think of it, it's probably because I was using True Primary Secondaries instead of Primary Secondaries. I'll test it with the latter and see if the issue persists.

It seems that the Skirmisher Knights spawn without weapons on Gatecrasher. Otherwise they work fine.

@Ozy Probably never, as it's a hero class you can just use it in RPGO as is, but several of the skills are in my Archmage RPGO specialization.
