FWIW I made that mod as a first mod to mirror the mod that added more gay characters. It doesn't make sense to me to have one option but not the other.

I turned off comments because I was getting low effort comments that were disparaging me on ideological grounds.

Calling someone human trash and a coward because of a mod they made is not at all tolerant. Neither is trying to get it removed just because you don't want to use it.

I was just now alerted of being insulted here and wanted to respond. I assume that I will get additional flack for attempting to defend myself, and in order to not hijack these comments or get into a fruitless argument, I'll attempt not to further respond.

Skooma Fish it's an optional mod... You do not have to download it. Some people don't want gay/bi relationships in their games for whatever reason, and that's okay. I agree with every word Lockfagel said.

What's not okay is complaining about a mod on a different mod's page.

"Human garbage" is a bit excessive. Without a doubt the mod in question is in poor taste, but let's try not to over-exaggerate to the point that we dehumanize one another over sociopolitical stances.

I realize this is an old comment but the devs haven't changed it yet so if you're still out there, I made a mod for this! It's called Gender Rolls, but it doesn't have the same diversity of orientation as Reorienter. I had to make everyone roll as bi by default to allow nonbinary and trans characters to generate, but I like making my characters bi anyway so it works out for me :P

i really like the devs added the option for bi and gay characters, but so far like 90% of the time i have to go to the charcter and change it which kinda sucks, so def hyped to try this out

You'll have to find the folder the mod was downloaded into, which Steam doesn't make very easy. Start from your Steam folder, \steamapps\workshop\content\ then figure out which folder is for Wildermyth (on my computer it's 763890 but yours might be different) and then the folder under that for Reorienter (each mod contains its preview picture so go by that).
From there it's assets\data\history\ and humanBase is in there.

FINALLY someone addresses this. I sent a feedback way back in beta about the overabundance of straight characters, but I guess they never did a thing about it, huh. This'll do for a fix, thanks!

Nice. Thanks for this. I finished my first campaign and of the 11 characters I had at least temporary control over not a one of them was other than straight. I was thinking that the game simply did not make use of that particular feature, but at 1-in-20 odds, it might as well not.

I swear to god all the characters that kept generating for me used to always be bi, but then it just stopped and everybody was straight. I'm more weirded out than offended, I don't get it.

This works with the current build of the game, although it cannot currently roll nonbinary characters.

Hey, just curious if this is still usable now that nonbinary characters are implemented in the game.

Word from the dev team is that changing the way these gender/orientation profiles are hardcoded is on their radar, so if/when that happens look out for an updated version with nonbinary/trans characters!

I want to, but I haven't found a way to add to the six existing gender/sexuality profiles characters can roll.

That's a good point about removing the other elements in the JSON file; they're there in the original file being modified and I wasn't sure if taking them out would break those elements. I'll have to give it some tests.

Anyway, if you want to change the ratios for yourself, it's very simple - open the humanBase JSON file and look at those first six entries. The "weight" line dictates how often they occur. Just change this number - don't worry about changing the others to match, they don't need to add up to any particular total. The six profiles are:

500 - straight male
501 - gay male
502 - straight female
503 - gay female
504 - bi male
505 - bi female

If you only change the weights you won't run into any weird bugs.

Er...nevermind. These modding tools are really comprehensive. I just assumed it might be a kind of hell to change like other games. Nooooow I just need to figure-out how to tweak it.

By the way, I looked at the JSON file in the mod itself, and I think you've got a lot of extraneous stuff that doesn't need to be there. Everything after line 55 looks like it can go (for the sake of mod compatibility).

Thanks. The amount of straight characters was quite high for my liking. Is it possible to tweak this to personal preference should one wish to? That proportion of straight characters is a bit low for my own taste; there are bits of dialogue I ran into that were really memorable because the character's sexual preferences were misaligned.
