You need to go to the folder "xxx:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SovietRepublic\media_soviet\research\" and open the "research.ini" file with Notepad. Replace the line:"$UNLOCK_BUILDING_PRODUCTION mcomponents" with "$UNLOCK_BUILDING_PRODUCTION_1_CONSUMPTION mcomponents steel" and "$UNLOCK_BUILDING_PRODUCTION ecomponents" with "$UNLOCK_BUILDING_PRODUCTION_1_CONSUMPTION ecomponents chemicals"

When I disable research the feed converter is locked behind the year 1934. Is this something you could change?

As far as I know it is not possible.

Horse breeder and Horse Feed converter are locked behind research. Can you exclude them from research please?

ok thanks Arven! @Novu I did have it connected, I am still pretty new at the game so there could have been other factors, I am testing Arven's fix now

The converter will work only if it is connected directly to the horse breeder with forklift connection.

To get it to work add the following to the building.ini for the converter


$STORAGE_EXPORT RESOURCE_TRANSPORT_COVERED 4.0
$STORAGE_EXPORT RESOURCE_TRANSPORT_OPEN 2.0

I have not been able to get this to work, no matter how much I put into the breeder, neither it nor the feed converter were showing any production progress, I am still a newb at this game and would love to get this working. The economics of horses dont make as much sense without this amazing building! I love all of your horse mods, they are all so creative, I love making a little low tech town

If research is enabled the buildings require the same tecnologies to make cars... cyborg horses, yikes

You have to connect horse feed convertor v2 (located under factory) for the Veterinarian to work.

How does the horse veterinarian work? I can't get it to repair any vehicles. It has crops, wood, all of the normal resources for vehicle repairs, workers, electricity, and clean water, but vehicles just won't go to it.

Hello I have a problem I have everything connected and yet neither does it produce or convert the horses, in the breeders it comes out to me (no plan to select)

WHat do you use as an early alternative to forklifts? I havent been able to find anything

You don't have to load them onto vehicles unless you are exporting them. Just click on the riding horse and send it to the horse merchant. Easiest way to sell riding horses is to connect the breeder directly to the horse merchant with the factory connection.

I'm playing in 1920 with the following bug/problem. Maybe you are able to help me, keep in mind I'm an absolute beginner at this game (just 25h in - so maybe it's all my fault, because it's my first car production line in this game ever).

I have a problem with the transporting of "riding horses" out of my "horse breeder" into my horse merchant. I have a working "horse breeder", which keeps pushing out many new "riding horses". I load them into an early truck (from the steam vehicles mod) and transport them to my newly built horse merchant/dealership. But they can't unload the "riding horses" into the dealership. I tried many different ways (direct lines & distribution offices and adding depots and/or parking lots as an extra step) in this transport chain - but none of them works. Maybe you have an idea what I'm doing wrong.

This mod should work a lot better now if the Horse Feed converter (located under factory) is connected to the Breeder building. All you need to do is bring crops, wood, and fabric to the breeder and the convertor will do the rest.

I am trying to figure out a way to make this produce horses without consuming steel. Then I will consider making variants that use livestock.

It's meant to be a breeder, so it's using crops to 'feed' the horses so they 'breed'.

Great work, but shouldn't the crops be changed into livestock?
