Okay, so the XS Mech patch you listed in the description is still needed for users of XS Mechs: Modular Edition (I use FU and XS Mechs and need that patch from 2017 for the legs to be visible).

found the problem it was an issue with load orders, if the mod was not at the top of my subscribed items list it will fail to activate.

@Moonpaw: it likely was but i have no idea what the problem was at that time as I've got the mod again and it works

Patch doesn't work mod still conflicts and several default recipes do not unlock

You're kidding right? this looks amazing! fyi, the legs aren't ugly, the flames look like they're at a low/fuel efficient burn. It's good.
