you've just made me motivated to work on this again. Currently the new version updates 16x quicker, sos feature, stop transmitting, map colours and built in external display support but im debating on removing that for dedicated radar that would show up on the map

ngl i dont even remember, been working on a updated version which removes that and just makes it a drop down property you can pick and a host of other features. But work has been slow.
Update found them - Ferry (blue) 54173, Admin (red) 8008135, CG (orange) 1993, civ (green) any number other those before

mine is made for all vehicle types (air, sea, land), but meant to coexist with existing systems like AIS

mine is actually already on the workshop, in the form of the map on the YV5 and YV6 having it integrated. it's a fairly old system by now, but the basic concept is that each aircraft has their own update speed, making sure that they never overlap for more than just one or two cycles per every once in a while. i've got a system for transmitting the name of the vehicle also but i haven't implemented it onto the workshop version yet.

The system i made can have unlimited aswell but is limited by lua character limit (can be unlimited if i used tables). I did kind of base mine off Half-Duplex and did actually have a version with just one antenna but my main problem was having them syncing with each other for when to transmit/receive and was never consistent and often slowish in its update speed and MP seemed to not play well with it.
For having it on 1 frequency their physically isnt enough composite channels as currently one AIS outputs 5 values (Could be reduced to even less but i would be worried about float number rounding if i grouped them together).
But if it was all on one frequency the update speed will be much faster then mine.

you could have unlimited people shown if you take a half-duplex approach, it would also only take one antenna on a single frequency. i've already made a system like this, called link 35, but i have not released it standalone.

Oh sorry didnt mean to imply that it doesnt work properly now. I absolutely love it.
Its just that this system is required IRL on ships that have a 300 ton DWT and if you want to get even 20Ton DWt ingame you basically need to drop all logic except for like W/S and A/D. :p

so no room left for fancy screens etc. but that is in extreme brink cases only.

it actually works pretty well with mp, currently im still testing it but a few of us are already using it in trickys boat server.

I just saw a map of all the ships in over 300DWT in the world (and many more) and you guessed it someone made it and it's on the workshop. brilliant and well done.
I think this could be really fun if we ever get better logic fps and multiplayer.

The freq is assigned automatically. Just spawn a 2nd vehicle in and assuming you have everything hooked up right you will see 2 vehicles on the display.

I'm not sure how to make this work with multiple vehicles. Do I need to enter a Freq. somewhere?
