I just took it for a spin just the other day to make sure it indeed worked, and it did.
Can you talk me through the steps you are following and the options you have set to on/off in the options menu?
This way I can try and duplicate your results and see if something is indeed amiss.
- Improved Ground Handling
- Greatly improved radar and range (100KM Max range)
- Improvement for lower 'Psychics Settings'
- Host of other cosmetic and functionality improvements
ENJOY!
- Aircraft now FINALLY capable of single engine flight. (Read description for operation)
ENJOY!
I had already seen the videos and knew those things. However, I had not undestood that you needed to have both AFCS and AFCS alt on at the same time. I had tried many thing yesterday before contacting you, hence the G-limiter in the OFF position. For some reson, leaving both AFCS on didnt work yesterday but it did today.
I tried doing a more serious series of tests and it seems that I managed to figure it out this time. If you're inerested, here are my test results: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jnHqc36vfl7FnkvLO7mGCGcrjDrxXzMAZLe00YuiQ0w/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks again for this beautiful creation! Keep up the good work and sorry for bothering you
Why do it like this? Because that is how it was on the real aircraft, oddly enough.
Also, thank you very kindly for the nice compliment early, I sure do appreciate it!
Let me know how it all works out.
There is tutorial videos I put together that explain most system operations. There is a link in the description, and they are "time stamped" so you don't have to watch the whole thing. Skip to 15:45 (in the S-2 Tracker tutorial) where I explain the autopilot.
Take care!
I tried to keep the engine(s) operation as realistic as possible which meant having them run a little hot for in-game standards. 84C is a perfectly normal temperature, however if the temperature reaches 110 or higher you'd better throttle back.
Keep in mind that the cowl flaps are less effective when the aircraft is stationary as little to no air is moving over the cylinders.
Also, as per the manual anything over 2 minutes at full power can result in the engine(s) actually overheating.
What I am curious about is how you managed to get the engines to cool with the parking brake applied while airborne. The only way this would be possible is if the throttle was also set almost to idle.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further trouble.
lol_wut, I'm sorry I mean no disrespect but I have no idea what any of that means. I got "dang" and "it" but there isn't any part of the aircraft labeled "BOI" or "THCC". Could you be more specific and I'll try and help you if I can.
Anyway, I don't explain it very well in the video, but make sure you press and hold BOTH the Starter and the Primer at the same time when starting an engine. Also make sure the Battery isn't dead. Anything under 85% might require a Ground Power Unit. BUT, the electrical cables were broken recently (in an update) so you might have to wait for an update OR reload the aircraft.
Hope that helped, let me know how it goes.
Take care!
i switch the AC BUS Tie to on
Crack the Throttle 0.02
Prime the Fuel System to 5 PSI
Spin the Prop 10 Blades
then Activate the Magnetos
and then engage the Starter but the Max RPM is ~34 no ignition
And yes ive tried to Prime it, no effect
Switching through all the switches before engine start, I switched the magnetos on _before _ doing the spin up of the engines... Doing it the other way around worked of course.
Once again: A brilliant build. Thanks for sharing.
Sadly I can't get the right engine to start up. Left engine works fine. The right one climbs to around 34 rpm but no further. Like it's getting no fuel. Both fuel boost and magnetos are on. Throttle at 0.02. Am I doing something wrong?
