turns my map into a horrifying pitch black world with red and green, I guess I should check the last updated date before I install mods

Found a way to use HΛLΛXΣL's fix:

Go to EU4 mod folder, u'll have there bunch of *.mod files, e.g. ugc_231191093.mod. Open them with notepad until you find something like:

name="Better Fog of War Mod"
tags={
"fixes"
"graphics"
}
picture="betterfow.jpg"
supported_version="1.25.*.*"
archive="F:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/###/###/###_legacy.bin"
That is the actual name of the mod and the path to the files of the mod, which is in this case:

F:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/###/###/###_legacy.bin

Your path might be different ofc. Since the mods are downloaded via workshop and applied by the new launcher this is the only place where the files exist locally and will be loaded by the game.
So you navigate through the appropriate (rather weird) path of this folder structure and then you open the 936060064723263339_legacy.bin with any packing program, like winrar, 7-zip, etc. And there are the files which you should fix like HΛLΛXΣL said.

Okay so 1.29 REALLY messed up all the previous mods. What can we do to get this mod working proper again? I can't imagine playing with that obtrusive, over-powering vanilla FoW.

The dimming is still happening in both this and the other mod. Any chance of fix? It's so frustrating to constantly zoom in and out trying to fix the dimness.

@Thekimyaci It's updated to the latest patch, I'm unaware of any DLC incompatible with this mod, but even if it is I couldn't correct for it as I don't play the game any more and thus have stopped purchasing DLC. Check the link in the description for external download and you will probably be able to make it work. Again, I doubt it'll be DLC, but there might be incompatibilities with other mods. Good luck!

@OzbyBray I don't know unfortunately. The mods are technically compatible, but maybe visually incompatible. You might try to tweak some parameters to make it better, unfortunately I don't have time to check what could make it work.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry I didn't update this. I got a new phone and must have missed to enable the steam notifications. I haven't logged in on steam on the desktop for a while cause I was busy with my business and gettin' everything sorted before the end of the year, also christmas.

It's now updated to be 1.19.x compatible! Hope you have the time to play much during the holidays! Sorry again, and have fun!

Open .mod file with Notepad, change 1.18 to 1.19 and save it. Work well for me.
