Who knows anymore. I made that thing 4 years ago. Probably not. It wasn't a good AI plane when it came out.

I put that game down for a while. But there is a prototype A-10 I started this winter. It does have a breadboard in it that keeps the aircraft stable in flight and pointing at target so you can concentrate on the weapons systems. It has an insane gun inside.

Also, I want to second the notion of having AI control (instead of only player control) on some of these wonderful replicas. You still planning to making an A-10?

I never really designed it to be controlled outside the cockpit very well. IT was always sort of intended to be a cockpit experience. I might be making an A-10 and I'll consider AI more when I build that. This is actually an old version. download the BRRT version with the powerful canon.

Wow! This is unbelievable! Such Detail! One question though: Is there any way for me to send several of these out at once? I noticed to enable autopilot I need to be in the actual seat so is there a way to send a fleet of these at the enemy? I would absolutely love to have several of these babies on my carrier but I cant seem to have them start up and have the ai do their thing unless I am in the seat and initiate it myself. =(

the sound effects are downloaded from the actual company that makes aircraft sound effects for the government. They're called symphonics. they have a .wav download section. you tell the ACB to play sound block 'x' if we're faster than 100 m/s and below 30 m/s...and that's how you get "woop woop, too low too low, pull up!"

Sure, I don't really know how I'd do that though. I could make a platform thing that shows the levels of inside this aircraft. There's no LUA in this though. It's just hundreds of different ACB's telling a projector "turn on if missiles are within 700 meters" or a piston is connected to a projector and the ACB tells the piston to lift .01 meters if we angle the nose up 10 degrees... know what I'm saying? You landing gear indication is literally a hologram projector connected to the rear gear so it shows up when it's down and peels away when it's up.

I like the looks of this thing. What I'm really interested in is the instrumentation and HUD for my own projects. Are you up for teaching the community or producing some pre-fabs or some drop-in LUA code and instructions so others can add a HUD to their own creations?

?barrel rolls? really? When I fly it it only has a slight tendency upwards, which I actually intended. You need to press U from time to time, but if you bank left or right to peel around you can make that turn faster with that upward pull. You need that if you want to survive a head on dog fight with a falcon. You don't want something that doesn't fly upwards a little. I have no idea why it does barrel rolls though, that's not what I see. If she's banking on her own that's not good. Maybe we have two different gravity settings? That still shouldn't cause banking though.

Do you have auto pilot off? because the latest up date broke the auto pilot, which used to be very smooth.

may i ask why this thing has a HUGE preference for doing barrel rolls and steering UP? i can't keep it in neutral without countersteering like an absolute crazy madman.

Oh, interesting. Yeah I've only ever just built stuff in designer mode. I tried playing a game once and it didn't make any sense to me. As for multiplayer, I've never been able to get in... they're all password protected. I just strive to build realistic things. I often get books, study the hardware, learn about what it was like to operate these things and then try to replicate them here... I do try to make them deadly... but that's only according the sims you see in designer mode.

I see all these comments and questions about cost, I assumed it had to do with the game.

Like a lot of games, From The Depths has different modes or ways to play it. FtD has Designer Mode, Single Player, Multiplayer and a variety of Story missions and Campaigns to choose from.

Normally, when you play a Campaign, the player has to gather Resources from Resource Zones and then spend them to spawn vehicles. Moreover, one has to have enough Resources to cover fuel costs or run Steam the engines and to spend on ammo. (Older versions split resources into Materials, Fuel, Ammo, Metal, Natural, Crystal... various things. But they did away with that complexity.)

Do you usually just build stuff in Designer Mode?

So I just looked at it, its says the cost is 136,840. What I'm saying to you is that I literally don't understand what that means. Who are you buying this from? I'm not selling it to you, I'm giving it to you for free to fly around. I'm confused as to what 'cost' means in this game.

Maybe it's just me, but I think providing the resource cost is common courtesy when one already provides other stats and details. I can't be the only one who does not want to subscribe to a workshop vehicle and try it out in a campaign without first knowing the cost.

I guess it's fine to leave out cost for aesthetic builds. But it is very difficulty to judge the cost effectiveness of a practical build without knowing the cost. And cost effectiveness is pretty important for certain game modes, such as campaign.

(I'd think trying to win in campaign mode on a hard difficulty should be extremely hard or impossible to do with nothing but replicas and impractical aesthetic builds. Though, I haven't tried...)

I just find it strange that so many Workshop creators overlook the cost, since I think it's such an important and basic stat. It's easy enough to take a screenshot of the stats window.

I have no idea what the resource cost is, I'm sure it's astronomical becasue you've got over 20 spin block layers of equipment in the center line area of the fuselage to make you wpns systems, and avionics operate properly. Why does everyone always ask that? What does that mean? Is that for like that other game play mode that seems impossible to play... I'm seriously asking.

Is cost something I should think about when I make stuff... becasue people take into a tournament or something?

Yes ive seen his Advanced Control Stealth SSBN that looks like the "SW for Rufus" You have in your Workshop

but as said he sadly left FtD Discord Server for a while and also subsequently purged his Workshop of his wonderful Creations

I work with Rufus on stuff all the time, or more vice versa actually, he works with me. He didn't help me with this F-18, but other stuff like a sub I'm working on.. he made a depth display, a map, a whole series of computers. That dude is hands down the best tech developer in this game. That thing he made that maps out the ocean floor is ridiculous.

The carrier was made by @amazePenguine some time ago. It's an impressive build. I've refitted my own with an engine room, commandable elevators and a rubber deck, suitable for landing.
