Fixed a few other issues (some of them not fixable in configs) in the newly-released Buildable Units Redux .

Most notably, BU Redux adds support for Alpha's EU Shivs, a newer version of Alpha115's original Shiv Mod, as a possible source of SHIV assets. It also drops support for the original mod to improve compatibility with the rest of the LWotC modding scene, as an error in the original forced Kiruka to overwrite all the faction hero armor templates.

Okay, I've uploaded a partial fix at https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3596971955 .

Very hastily thrown together: Recycles the original mod icon, doesn't give the SPARK voices to any of the BUs, doesn't remove human voices from them either... I'll work on it some more later, but it'll do for tonight.

Okay, ran a quick test by adding the below sample line to XComContent. It's still missing a few bits - I'm not sure why all of the human voices are offered for BU use, and it was a quick-and-dirty fix so the new voice didn't have a proper name in the voice picker - but I was able to assign it to my Resistance MEC, and conveniently had a Geoscape save mere minutes before a Chosen Assault so I could promptly send it out into combat for testing. (Apparently the voice picker previews don't work for BUs, either...)

It is my (perhaps incorrect) understanding that Kiruka hasn't been doing much modding lately, so this might need to be fixed by a separate mod overriding her configs. I'll see if I can throw something together later...

But looking through some other mods, it looks like template names are unique. I'm fuzzy on what exactly happens next, and I made matters worse by nuking BU's XComContent.ini so I can't even try guessing which unit (if any) ended up getting the voices... but the available evidence suggests the original template got overwritten by one of the BU templates.

A more correct definition might therefore have been:

+BodyPartTemplateConfig=(PartType="Voice", Language="english", Gender=eGender_None, TemplateName="BU_ResistanceMecCalm_English", ArchetypeName="SparkCVoice1_English.Voice_SparkCVoice1_English", CharacterTemplate="BU_ResistanceMec")

... I think I figured out why Buildable Units nukes the SPARK voice list: It rewrites the SPARK voice templates!

Kiruka copy-pasted the XComContent lines for the SPARK voicesets and changed their CharacterTemplate to point at a BU unit template instead of SparkSoldier, repeating this process for each consecutive BU template - for instance:

you guys can download both militia overhaul plus plus and standalone lwotc alien pack so that you can actually see the models on some units without the need to change the inis

You'll need a mod that adds SHIVs if you want to use the Buildable Units edition of them. I personally use Alpha115's version.

Hey so for my Resistance MECs the model isn't showing. I edited the options by removing everything that had LW in it. Aslo, I don't use LWOTC. Do you have a reccomendation to fix this?

you should get 2 research projects right at the start of the campaign that grant you imediatly 2 shivs

after finishing proving grounds I do not see the shivs in the list. is there a research tech required ? when I use the console commands I get a shiv with no weapon not selectable and no armor. do I miss something ?

So, I started a new game and got quite far into it. Now, today I got a message from the AML that this particular mod no longer exists, but it clearly does on this page, so that's a bit weird. Disabling it for now.

Does this mod make anyone's game crash when clicking on "View Soldiers" in the armory or "Select Soldier" in the squad select screen? I researched this tech in the game, and after the first mission after researching it, the game keeps crashing.

I fixed it by renaming the Config XComContent to something else so it wouldn't read it.

Ok I found the main problem to why Sparks are losing there base game voices

And it's because the XComContent.ini despite holding all of the base spark voices for whatever reason Locks it out for all types of sparks weather that be the base game or the LASER Spark classes

@Kiruka Hi. Is there any chance you could try to enable SHIVs to have their portraits generated? I mean this feature causes other portraits not being generated as well for soldiers and other units recruited after you built SHIVs. I've tried to contact Alpha115, but he said he couldn't fix it. Also I use LWOTC FYI.

Thank you for everything you've done with this mod. Being able to send out teams of rookies supervised by forces from this mod has made a world of difference in both stretching out my barracks, and keeping my weaker soldiers alive by using the abilities these units have, or just having them give and draw fire.

The most recent updates that added the researchable upgrades has in particular made a world of difference in their capabilities. You're one of the best modders on here, LWOTC wouldn't be the same without your content.
