Great news about saves! I'll check it out.
As soon as you loose some soldiers or your folks get ill, it is nearly impossible to come back. - That's why I added Stone Altar, enemies can't pass zones with this building, so you can cut them off with few altars, and grow your army...

Saving seems to work now.
i did most of the Conquest on extreme (early before they made it easier (pre-nerf))
maybe i'm just used to this type of difficulty it just came natural to me.
i think forgot to build light house, i spotted him mid map fairly early i think i was about 30 minutes in the game.
3 healer huts going upgraded fully populated take most of the workers off working jobs made soldiers and bashed his head in, micro'd wounded off the tile and heal them back up.
i think i was about 11 tiles, with the berserker only colonizing 2 tiles in the entire game
maybe i was cursed with luck.
i'll play the map again and try different approach.
but there is Way too much food on this map. you can expand very fast, and build so breweries to support your population growth.
Thank you for feedback. Can you specify, what was the hardest part?
Yes, I'm going to create few mods about colonization of Sunspear Reefs, sooner or later. At this moment scripting is pain - scripted game is unstable and API is poor, but huh...it was released less then month ago, I hope they'll fix it :)
I like you idea about specialized islands, maybe I will make something out of it. The problem is, you cannot control more than one clan, and within a clan resources are shared.
About this mod: can you tell, why wasn't it difficult? Hide answer in spoiler if needed. Did you manage to gather big army soon enough? Or maybe you delayed building of Lighthouse? Is map too reach with resources?
How many specters were there in the end? Did you build Stone Altar for protection?
i hope you can make some sort of story out of this and maybe make it with some fictional back ground story, as if a whole clan is looking for new land to settle on and this would be the first island with some ship wrecks here and there.
just pitching an idea here, if you are up to it for making a "series" of some sorts, you could do various difficulty challenges, as example you could do smaller islands like 3 or 4 of them all with town halls that you control and you'll have to multi-task on all islands in order to keep balance, setting up markets and trading posts in order to balance economy,
and then perhaps also increase difficulty and per map scenario.
Make the other islands far more hostile, and also something like a island that is barren and the other one that is literally covered in forests.
And in the future make co-op version once they enable mutliplayer mods?
You mean another clan to play or an opponent? The second doesn't seem appropriate for the story, but I can make the last boss much harder. It meant to be Undead Wyvern, but due to bug in game I had to change it to Frost Golem :( . But I still not sure that everyone can make it through, especially without saves
