Cool, you're working with the main giga guys now. Big fan of this back in the day. Keep up the good work man.
Hey, would you be interested in working on this directly in gigastructures? Add me if so :)
Your right Im just foolish, It is working properly. Thanks though!
I've run servitors a lot - biggest problem with my current modlist is due to Carrying Capacity: eventually the cumulative bonus from the Birch World will mean you're adding robots and biotrophies at a 1:1 ratio, which isn't sustainable. However, since bio-trophies suffer growth penalties under robots, until you get into something like 500+ pops in the Birch World you won't run into that situation, and if you do...well, ringworlds and alderson disks can take the excess bio-trophies, or you can just freeze their growth, since by then you'll have more than enough stuff going on.
I have a hard time running out of jobs as-is since the districts when built tend to clean out the lower levels pretty well by promoting pops.
Seeker Erebus  [
@begraves The Birch World Origin mod has been absorbed by Gigastructures main, which is probably why it isn't working; also why you have double origin options with it.
@Ragnarok interesting thought. It doesn't seem that avoiding job runaway with Servitors is possible, not without a super rigid balance between populations being required. Though not having the (admittedly placeholder) tech jobs could help with it. I don't run Servitors, so I'm not really sure on their balance, do you think in a more unbalanced population scenario that you could run out of jobs for bots in such a case?
Have you considered just removing the excess technician jobs for Rogue Servitors and using the bio-trophies as a replacement to avoid job runaway? (I say excess because I rarely use those jobs at all). Would that work?
Starting up a new game and starting on the birch world does not work with the latest update of Gigastructures. You spawn on the world without the first district (called Structure Operations). Thanks for working on this mod by the way I love it (As a side note I tried it with and without birch world origin, It seems to only affect origin, and you have 2 birch world choices when choosing your Races Origin)

Thanks (genuinely this time).

Legacy version here: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?edit=true&id=2203563458
Link will also stick around in change log.
@Seeker Erebus No problem! And thanks for the offer of uploading a legacy version. I did load my savegame earlier today and at least it wasn't completely broken. :) Think there was something off about the Birch World district slots, though (was showing -1, iirc).
Seeker Erebus  [
I didn't really look into that save-breaking aspect. Oops. I'll make a legacy version, link it here when I'm done.
Yep, you have royally screwed my play-through. Thanks .
Quick question: What about those of us still on the legacy branch of GE? Will I be able to continue my game using the latest update of Birch World Rebalance? Still in the 2390s of a looong game I've put many hours into and I would love to be able to actually finish it (without updates to Stellaris or mods breaking it). :steamhappy:

Keep up the great work!
Seeker Erebus  [
Updated. Should be working fine now. Let me know if any more issues occur.
Seeker Erebus  [
The base mod rewrote a significant amount of their code for this, thus I'm gonna have to rewrite a lot of mine. Working on it.
Mod isn't functioning properly after the newest Gigastructures update
So either this, Gigas itself, or Birch World Origin is being weird. I get City Districts on the BW (and other Megastructure things like a planetary computer).
Seeker Erebus  [
Got it, updated.
It shouldn't be too difficult. There is a similar check for Lithoid and Rogue-Servitor-with-Lithoid homeworlds to start with mining districts instead of farming districts.
Seeker Erebus  [
I'm not entirely sure if I can exempt for that, but I'll give it a look
Apparently, Lithoids still get farmer jobs. many farmer jobs, when they don't even need one.
Seeker Erebus  [
@Rimse this was intentional. But unnecessary. Added back in, see change log.
Joumon 2020
There is no job for warrior culture at physma insula.
This is because of the omission in districts script.
hehe me too, i had to re-read it :)

but now i found this mod, it does look awsome - im going to have to try some more mods, have been enjoying the star trek new horizons mod (still am), but there are so many cool looking things outside of the startrek universe that need trying :)
Seeker Erebus  [
@Knapp can't blame you
Knapp 2020
When I glanced at the title, I did NOT read it as Birch.
Honestly, I'm fine with job runaway as long as it is manageable.
For intelligent machinery, the housing and comfort are too few. Originally, these are very sufficient, but the use of this mod housing and comfort is too little.
Seeker Erebus  [
Updated so more Researchers but less Unity jobs.
Seeker Erebus  [
@? While it might be possible to completely immunize the Birch World to bombardment, that's not the point of this mod. This mod is only focused on job balance.
Seeker Erebus  [
@Ragnarok This is set up so that there are 100 jobs added every 100 pops when you also build one of the Insula. RS also get 50 Biotrophy jobs when building Insula on top of 100 base jobs. Since Biotrophies count as pops but can't fill the normal jobs, more jobs are created every 100 pops than can be filled, what I call job runaway. The only way I can solve this is either to stop providing any biotrophy jobs with the Birch districts (might do depending on demand) or to handicap RS, which I won't do.
every bio-trophie is another pop but they can only get the bio-trophie job so the overseers generate more jobs than the rs Can man/robot
Define 'job runaway' for RS and their bio-trophies, please?
Yeah the performance improvements were really useful.
But would it really do much? The thing is like a light-year across (plus/minus an order of magnitude). How are the invaders even supposed to find a good target? I imagine that the locations will be top-secret. And if they eventually find something on the ludicrously large surface, what is stopping the defenders from retreating to the inside of the shell? Considering the technology required to build (and probably maintain) such a structure, I think that it would be easy.

And that is not even considering the numerous defensive mechanisms that are certainly dispersed all over the sphere. Who would not provide the most important construction in the history of the galaxy with a formidable built-in defense?
Seeker Erebus  [
A colossus being unable to destroy a birch world makes sense; you can't destroy a star with a colossus and a birch world is much much bigger than a star. But I see no reason you couldn't bomb the hell out of one.
Will you also make it immune to orbital bombardment? If a colossus can't even scratch it, I don't think a little tiny nuclear arsenal will.
Seeker Erebus  [
Oh lol. Had to stop using Infinite Stellaris Framework myself a while back. Such a shame to have the performance improvements out of reach; they were so useful.
@InfinityArts - I found similar when using Infinite Stellaris with a birch world and had to disable it, which is a shame because I want all their other performance fixes!
Found the problem. Infinite Stellaris Framework overwriting other mods' stuff again. Coincidentally the same mod messing with my pop growth. Really should just uninstall it.
Seeker Erebus  [
@InfinityArts That's unusual. Managers have higher priority than anything but rulers, and the Construction Manager has higher priority than everything but a purge. Can you reproduce with just this and Gigastructures, optionally Birch World Origin?
Seeker Erebus  [
@unpersn4 Haven't tested but probably not.
Nevermind, looks like the issue with another mod. Still having problems with job priorities for the managers, though. Unless I have enough specialists, they all prefer the other jobs instead of the managers. I can lower the cap on metallurgists/enforcers to force some folks over to the manager jobs, but it appears those are the first jobs to be lost as soon as the planet jobs are recalculated or I hit Restore Jobs button.
I'm having an issue where pops will not grow on birch world. Seems to be temporarily fixed by destroying the colony and resettling, but pops will not grow again on loading a save. Any suggestions on where to look to start solving this issue? My growth rate is > 0% and I have plenty of housing for everyone.
can this be added to the middle of a save?
Seeker Erebus  [
@InfinityArts no you good
Does the changed job prioritizations require a new game?
Genuienly was like Birch world is pretty difficult to maitain early game. and then this pops up great work thanks
