Ok will take a look

Also, my APG-4 is a general upgrade over this system and has superseded it.
Jim Halpert  [
Correct. I believe that is the default distance unit in the game.
Just to make sure, the ranging information is in meters right?
Jim Halpert  [
It does one scan bar per tick, meaning it scans about 1 degree per tick. There seems to be some kind of bug preventing the lock system to work properly right now. I'll work on it. The lock system basically does lock that way, once you select a target it narrows down the scan area to just a few bars to the left and right of the target.
Mat 2020
nice, thanks
the only thing i'm missing is the scan rate to be faster, sadly if it's not almost a scan per tick i can't use it. have you though of doing like older radards (such as the AN/APQ159) where there's a Pseudo-lock (radar rapidly scans only a bit left and right of the target locked) ? i don't know how yours work, it's too much spaghetti for my brain ! still tho, very nice radar.
Jim Halpert  [
The scan rate increase would require you to increase the per-tick scan increment as well as increase the beam width. Its been a while since i've worked on this radar so I can't remember exactly how easy that would be. The XYZ coordinates would be stored in the Xgps Ygps and Altitude measurements.

I'll start working on a new version of this system with improved code and options.
Mat 2020
so, i'd like to increase Scan rate, and obtain XYZ coordinates of target outputed as numbers, how would i retrieve them ? why does the lock button work for a sec then looses tracks ?

Thanks for the compliment! There is still imperfections that I need to iron out when I get my head around more of the math involved.
Its the Best radar i ever seen
ok
Jim Halpert  [
Nah, that's fine, I don't really care about reducing it, at least right now
I made your lua code half as long if you want i can send it to you
Jim Halpert  [
The target altitude should be in meters. It is calculated by using the angle measurement from the radar, altitude of the radar, and an angle sensor (to detect the angle of the radar) and some math.
and one more question how did you measure the altitud on the targets?
what is the altitud standing for is 4, 400 m or 4000 blocks or what is?
ps sorry for my english
the coordinates it gets are always off to the right (not west, right relative to the radar), and the numbers should be moved to the left on the screen as you can only read 4 digits of the coordinates

This is a godsent. I will be introducing this radar to my plane that I'm working on. Now I just need to figure out how to create compact guided missiles.
Oh I see... Some special characters indeed look weird in this tiny monitors of SW
Jim Halpert  [
Good question. I originally used ^ for air targets but hey way they are represented in the 4x5 text of these displays made them look a bit weird.
If you're using characters to represent the contacts icon, why not use "v" for surface and "^" for air ?
Jim Halpert  [
Sure
Im working on a multi target Radar system modeled after the AN/APG-81 can I ask you a few questions about your radar system?
Jim Halpert  [
This has been upgraded to the B version now.
Jim Halpert  [
Thanks for the compliment!
Ghost 2020
Definitely one of the coolest radar system's I've seen in a long while. I'm really interested to see how you update this in future versions. It doesn't have a place in any of my current projects but I'll keep it in mind for the future, definitely.
I wish you luck. See my f-15 to see how i meant if interested!
Jim Halpert  [
I will look into that, but that requires quite a lot of math, so no promises
If it would possible to send a video signal to a hud to mark locked target, that wiuld be awesome!
Cant wait for next update!
Nice!
Cant wait to test this in my f14
Jim Halpert  [
That should come with the eventual Track-while-scan upgrade. That is saved for the last update in my plan because it will require a lot of work to get working well.
Looks good! Are there any plans on showing target bearing? I have not figured out how to do that yet.
Jim Halpert  [
Thanks!
Finally an actual radar, not some cheap LIDAR gimmick. Good work!
IronFox, you can't, it's foreign part , in the Russian army only russian parts. Ahahah, trolling Ironfox today 100 lvl
Jim Halpert  [
My original idea was for a radar and moving map, but as of now there's no way of rotating the map so I put the map idea on hold. The map will be added with the data-network host.
Going in my SU57!
Good work! But hopefully the next version will be a radar+map
Jim Halpert  [
Thanks! I feel kinda limited by the low res displays, but I feel like there's a need for good radars.
Keep it up man! Glad to finally see people really digging into advanced radar functions.
