Would this be mountable as a deck-side torpedo or will it detect your own ship and come about to hit it?

I won't, sorry. Though If you wanna find planes that already use my torpedoes I suggest doing this:

@grazzy, it already does! Another thing it does is to only sweep where the target’s at. (See video)

What does the targetting distance do? is this the distance the laser starts searching for targets, after launch?

it lets you choose where it hits the target: the outer left corner, the outer right corner, or anything in between.
