re-uploaded without the obstructing folder - doing this fix for all my mods now

@ yuri.mmg OMG if this is the reason for the uploading issues to the steam workshop of xenonauts I might consider uploading the updates of my mods that sit on my drive. :steamfacepalm: I gave up on it a year ago or so

the problem is that the mod is in a folder inside another folder with the same name, making it impossible for the game to recognize it as such, at least its what i think since removing it fro me the first solved the problem

I tried manually unzipping the files, still doesn't show up in the mod list at all, I think I might have to give up on this mod for now, sry :steamsad:

nah it cant be compatibility issues, this mod is really tiny, not changing many files. I´d forget the subscribe, install and download features of the mod launcher. just copy the zip it into your mod folder, probably under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Xenonauts\assets\mods and unzip the file there by hand. then start the mod launcher and hit "activate" so it shows "yes" in the "active" column.

Alright I apologize for not being clear earlier, the mod just does not show up in the mod list at all, using 'add new mod' just gives the 'is not a file' error for both .zip files, even when I unzip both files it still doesn't show up in the mod list, the game just doesn't recognize it at all, idk if any other mods are conflicting with it or if there's a problem between the chair and the keyboard but just so you know I've got Armored Assault, Psionyze this and Name of the World installed and active, I've also got Skitso's megamix map pack installed but not active but that's it

Does it appear in the list of mods at all? If yes, does it say in the "Active" column of the list INSTALL, Yes or No? If it says Install its not unzipped properly, if its No, you need to hit the "Activate" button. If you get the "is not a mod file" error the mod launcher could not unzip the file. (install does nothing else than unzip) right in the same folder, so if you do the unzipping yourself with peazip, 7zip, winRar or any other free software it should work. I uploaded the mod again, to make sure the file was not corrupt or something. now I get the "is not a mod error" myself :steamfacepalm: but if I do the unzipping by hand it works. You should remove one of the 2 folders if it appears twice in your list.

ok this is weird, I tried putting in the zip file from the link and it still didn't recognize it, I extracted the files and it still didn't recognize it, it's then I noticed that there were 2 Ranks Renamed files in the folder, so I booted up the start menu for xenonauts and tried the 'add new mod thing' with both files it said that they weren't mod files, to double check I tried it with an existing mod in the folder and it worked, idk what's going on the but my game just seems to not notice your mod no matter what I do

nah cant do cause of the ingame animation graphics - sprites that would be required to be created.I started on a hazmat suit but gave up after realizing you literally need to paint over 100s of images. Kneeling, lying, dying, running, idling, carrying or shooting every darn weapon there is in any possible stance and facing 8 directions. Too much work unless you have a 3D model ready and render every animation frame, thats how they did the sprites. I´m not a 3d modeller though.

this may be much to ask but it says there is a Mech suit in the files somewhere called the Goliath do you think you can do something with that?

From what I thing I understand, I actually thought some really elite special force teams might INDEED all be officers.
