Haven't given up on the actual solution, and I have another idea, but implementing it is tough.
Laser cubes can sometimes start floating in midair when they are redirecting a laser and the floor beneath them is removed. It's a silly glitch, but it could cause softlocks / exploits in this map because the logic is so subtle. For some reason, reversing the funnel polarity makes the game ''update'' all laser cubes, thus making floating cubes fall. I believe in this map, every time the autoportal changes place, the funnel is reversed as well (maybe with a second of delay), hence preventing any cubes from ever levitating and ruining the fun :]
