Some data points:
% battery no braking airbase 3 / 4 laps
9:5 V2.0, 82% / 76% battery
V2.0 layout 1:1, 81% / 75% battery, doesn't slow down quickly
1:1 edit (1:3 off-throttle gens), 80% / 74% battery, uses gens as "brakes" & fastest lap
Bonus: above but 9:5 motors, 83% / 77% battery
The way you wired clutch to throttle was a nice idea, but I rearranged it so the clutch only applies to the motors, letting the generator slow down the car while cornering without braking.
I'm trying to optimize the generator, but I'm not too sure how to really improve this. The generator produces more at 1:3. Generator loads cuts down top speed. I wonder if it's more efficient to keep the generator off (or toggle 1:1 if you don't want to fit a clutch) on full throttle.
Here's a WIP. https://i.imgur.com/TGmYPmK.png
You can fit another small battery and a 1x2 microcontroller.
- When releasing the throttle it will now slightly recharge the battery with 0.75% max. instead of 0.3%.
I notice it's geared for the generator, which should have its gearbox kept separate from the motors with a clutch. You killed 1/3 of the car's speed just to recover half a % of battery.

and how do you get custom blocks?
