At this point, this map is severely outdated. The newest game version has added so many things to the roster of enemies, units and towers that the waves I created for this particular map are outgunned immensely. A new map would be good in a way but replacing this one isn't gonna work.

great map, however...
Suggestions:
1. It would be better if the circles between chambers were in use, for ex. do it 3/3 so items can be delivered.
2. in late game support air units bags on mining, they just stop mining and thats it, game over.
3. Map is not symmetrical, would be much easier to plan factories if the chambers were even numbers, in tunnels its not even, therefore the small def block always destroyed due to lower hp.
4. Would be nicer to have bigger version, because I'm sure people replayed many times this map, due to its simplicity and at the same time hardness. After 50 wave, no gameplay... just wait for v5 to build and thats it.
Overall this map is by far my favourite one. Thank to developer and I would like to play more maps like that>:steamthumbsup:

very good, amazing idea, enemies are definitely on the easier side, would have made it a bit harder, meltdown just juices up everything

Well I'd rather have the original map updated while everyone is subscribed to it instead of making an unseen copy.

Oh; can't you just subscribe to download it and then create a copy of it? I did that to make a modified version with coal for my own playing, but I haven't uploaded it because it's literally a 60 second edit of yours, not a map of my own.

Water units weren't available when this map was released, and since I don't have the original map anymore, I can't edit it either, which is honestly frustrating because I wanted to update this map several times now but I'm unable to.

tbh I don't have much trouble on this map; the linear nature makes it a really easy defense (though that problem crops up in the Campaign mode). Would be nice if it was Deep Water instead of walls so that we could use water units on this map.

There is a notable lack of Coal and of Heat patches for easier power gen in the early-ish game.

Yeah, the survival logic in Mindustry is kinda bad in that regard.

The biggest problem with survival maps is you can't set a hard wave limit.. "survive for X waves"

So, I have some good news, and some bad news.

The good news is, I am working on a new take of this map. It is more hardcore oriented this time, and will likely be larger in size, too. I will also see to use some more unique waves by actually designing each wave individually, rather than having a core progression (up to a certain point at least). So that's a thing.

The bad news is, due to the nature of this game, I cannot update this workshop entry anymore, issue being that the initial map can only be edited on the computer it was saved on, which for me is impossible because my computer pretty much completely broke down not too long ago.

I would hope that Anuke will find a way to mark maps you download from the workshop as your's if your steam profile matches the profile of the workshop entry, so I can update this map. But till then... I unfortunately can't...

Hmm, I see. Well, in that case I will see how I can update this map while I have no access to my computer. As far as I know those maps are only saved locally which unfortunately brings up huge issues with updating from other devices.

Nicely done. All the ressources are well placed. It's too easy.
I would start with more difficult enemies. I used a few duos until level 20 and had enough time to build everything.

Okay, so here is a bit of a changelog/preliminary change list:

- Changing placement of coal to be harder to be easier to obtain, but in lower quantities early on up to mid. Titanium will be available in scarce patches early on, but more commonly later.
- Adding a small solar panel farm for the beginning, providing just enough power to host a single silicon factory.
- Creating a 'super core' type of core, which is basically an assortment of cores and items just to make it look interesting, and give it some functionality/more port points.
- Removing repair drones, planning on adding Reaper
- Quality of life changes to terrain, including between-ring ports for bridge conveyors.

If you replaced the repair drones with something like bombers that'd shake things up a lot. You've pretty much got to defend the lower left 3 circles around the spawn point once you start getting past wave 200 (top 2 from air, bottom one from ground of course!). Before 200 you can sit safe in the very first choke point with 4 Meltdowns, after 150 there starts being so many units coming that they have to re-fire, giving things a chance to break through.

If you intend to keep EVERYthing uneven, the vertical middle part of the 2 bottom middle circles can have a 2x2 wall placed across it. This isn't such a big deal though since the defensive line for that is large enough to chew up stuff before it reaches a 'weaker' end.

Resource spread is interesting. I've currently got 4 circles drilling coal, spreading it across 2 other circles. Titanium is being moved from about 6-8 circles just to get it to the core! I should probably use more Mass Drivers...

Oh, those Repair Drones shouldn't be there. I think I accidentally added them in my frenzy of adding stuff and yeah... Might have accidentally squeezed in between.

As for the uneven spacings, yeah, it's actually planned. I didn't want people to just put down a straight line of walls, and that's what makes this map so infuriating for some, I would assume.

I am actually thinking about moving a few resources around, namely coal and Titanium.

Lastly, I am still thinking about designing the start a bit more interesting. So yeah, stay tuned and maybe be surprised if I think up something.

The biggest nightmare of all time is the utter inability to fill gaps with 2x2 walls properly. The space provided is great for SOME things (jamming 4 Meltdown's into one choke point with a fluid line up the middle? No problem!), but placing decent walls in a straight line without gaps is impossible. I can only assume it's part of some nefarious plan of yours to drive me insane.

You're out of luck. That ship sailed a looong time ago.

On a second play-through of the map, I think it'd be pretty easy to toss some drills out for Copper then just rush placing Duos/Walls. I'm pretty sure that doing a little shooting yourself would allow you to just block off the second last choke point right from the start since there's such a long time before the first wave spawns (and the first wave is pretty meaningless). If you're looking to provide a challenge, maybe lower the timer on the waves (or at least the first one) so that by the time the player has enough Copper being mined to build basic things easily there's already units halfway to the core? Not so much stronger waves, but pumping them out faster to apply more pressure and restrict what circles can be accessed until the player can push back.

Another problem is that once you push out to the last couple of circles and drop down 4 Meltdowns in the choke point right near the spawn point, there's not a lot of challenge (though I've only hit wave 140 so far). Everything is practically spawning right into lasers and death. At that point the only thing you can do is spend your time fixing the nightmare of Conveyors you rushed down earlier.

...though that's more a pro than a con, from my point of view.

I'm not sure if there's not enough sand, just enough sand, or too much sand. The first lot you come across is enough to get you going, giving you enough Silicon and Metaglass to start improving things. Once you have enough Metaglass you can pretty much stop producing it entirely and focus on Silicon. Laser Drills take up all the sand in that area quite well (they cover all the spots and you can put Mechanical Pumps in to speed them up at no extra power cost!). At the same time, a little sand in a different circle would make it much easier to spread out the Silicon and Metaglass production areas early on.

One problem I'm noticing is that you're spawning a bunch of enemy flying units that just sit in the spawn zone doing nothing. They look like Repair Drones to me.

I'm currently playing it so just my thoughts so far...

Power's actually pretty easy to access at the start, without any assistance. The circle 2 from the right and 3 down has a lot of coal, and it's simple to hook up 10 Combustion Generators and use the two gaps in the wall to get power around. Then use that power for some quick Metaglass and Silicon and you can tap into the Thermal power from that same circle. I assumes that was intentional, since it's a nice way to make life a little easier.

A bigger core doesn't really matter so much due to the limited amount of space for Conveyors. By the time you run out of sides on the Core or want more storage it's already easy to make a couple of vaults.

All notes aside, imma see if I can add a bit more sand in general, and align the circles with each other To be quite fair, asymmetrical stuff also triggers me.

Also been fondling with the thought of maxing out the core and adding ~9 Solar panels to the base for some basic power income. A total of 32.8/s power shouldn't be that bad.

I went into this level thinking it'd be fairly easy. Single choke point to stop enemies, maybe a second circle if anything flying spawns... where's the challenge in that? This was before I started playing and figured out that while the enemies are something you have to deal with, it's the map itself you're fighting against.

Small amounts of scattered resources, barriers that're just a tiny bit too large to pass things through, water in just the most inconvenient spots when starting, and sand at an all time low.

And that's just the obvious issues! Once you start looking closely at things the map gets even WORSE - the circles are JUST SLIGHTLY off from each other.
