Yeah. I think this is one of the places where holes from the beta lore changes show the most.

I think the thing that always interests me the most about his lore is you can see it's all the same story but the books mentioning anything cut were removed and the story was just left with holes.

It looks fine to me. I can make a standalone version of the mod that uses it and doesn't have the old codices if you want.

Yeah, I think it was based on the initial design of Hiraki Corale. If there is official sprite art of her current look that I am not aware of let me know.

I don't really agree about the Protectorate at all, and in terms of lore, the Protector's quest isn't actually known to the galaxy at large.

Still, this mod's lore issues aside (what with the Glitch hivemind, or Greenfinger and Big Ape as specific individuals no longer being a thing)...

There's some other feedback I'd like to give: The sprite used for the icon is outdated, even in terms of beta. It was just a concept that differs greatly from the final design.

Yeah, I know they were in the beta, even early Koala builds. I could have used "current" and not "new" when describing them, but whatever. Just like the new/current lore, the old lore had its own problems. It did have (subjectively) bad things like the Glitch hive mind, but nothing like the Protectorate. They are the single biggest issue I have with the new lore. The old lore did not make the player basically the most important thing in the universe. It also painted a darker picture overall than the new. The shift to make the game go from T to E 10+ did not help with the later part.

Also, you don't need to use this mod unless you play on a server with it installed. If you want only the codex tab portion of it a standalone version would not be hard to make.

And this mod brings back the worst of it, lmao. "Roles are being swapped around and there are no rulers" is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for a simulated medieval civilization.

@Some random nerd, I frankly can't find anything like what you're describing. The Glitch lore has only gotten small bits chopped off so you're basically saying the current lore is bad too, and Hiraki is the archetypal Clueless Adventurer in the old codices, which I will point out is exactly how the character is supposed to be written.

"Hiraki Corale is a Hylotl adventurer extraordinaire, famed for her bravery, tenacity, sunny can-do attitude, and stunning obliviousness as to just how much trouble she causes."

The Hiraki described in the new codices is a fairly bland and average individual, with some obliviousness tagged on occasionally almost as an afterthought with the possible exception of the 'La Resistance' codex. On top of that, the new Corale lore is lacking in most anything interesting or engaging. While the same could be said for the old lore, it at least made up for that with Hiraki's hilariously over-the-top luck and cluelessness.

I think it is just a part of the over-the-top depiction of how blissfully unaware Hiraki is of who her “friends” really are, and of the consequences of her actions. She doesn’t even seem to be aware of the depth of the situations she gets into.
Some of the old codex entries, when paired with the new ones, such as “A Pleasant Town” and “The Silly Miniknog” make it feel like her character has developed, if only slightly, towards being less unaware of things.

There's also her endorsement of Miniknog violence in the Pleasant Town codex... And of course, being all chummy with the all-important villainous "friends".

Honestly, I kind of prefer Hiraki being actually likable. CF removing her old beta codexes has been a service to her character – she's been much better off without these.

Its only made better by how unaware Hiraki is of what her actions cause.

The newer ones are consistent with the lore (the old Glitch lore was flaming garbage), and don't have Hiraki casually send people to their deaths.

The Hiraki codexes that were removed kind of sucked tbh. Why bother readding them?

Hmm. So as it turns out, if I read one of the Legacy Codex of the removed Hikari Coral journals (they are blue in this mod), it puts them in the Hylotl tab instead of your added Hikari tab. Oh well. At least they are easy to differentiate between the two mods.

@AnomNom I have four Novakid/Novakid related codex entries basically ready, with plans for a few more before putting the mod up. Let me know if you have any suggestions for it.

I know a different mod does something similar; Legacy Codexes, it adds a bunch of cut Hikari content too. But maybe I'll add this too simply for the new tab. Although there might be conflict with Legacy Codexes/ The Bookstore mods. I'll get back to you on that should I find errors or something.
