There weren't any ladders at all.

@T4LON I know about that. Thats why there are ladders everywhere. Did you had a problem with those not spawning or something like that?

When you start a new game you are spawned where the teleporter is. Which that teleporter is at the very bottom of the ship and the jump through that first gap, and the following one, are too high for a Starbound character to jump up to without rope, a grappling hook, jump tech, or a block/platform.

@T4LON Why so? Did something not spawned or what?

As it turns out, this ship ain't at all small. I'd said it's about two thirds of the size of a fully upgraded ship. Also, you'll have to cheat to get some blocks (or platforms) to get up to the ship computer.
