You can take what folder you want out of the zipped folder and place it in the Starbound mods folder. In this case, you said you wanted only Hylotl and Novakids, so you'll want "Better Species Hylotl" and "Better Species Novakids" out of the zipped folder. And this mod and the standalones didn't need any code editing for this. Sprite sheet edits from the humanoid folder were the only things needed to make this mod work like I intended. The Meet the Primatex mod is separated for that reason, as it combines sprite editing and hex editing to get the effect I want. (IE, some Apex with tails and some without)

so how do I install them, it looks only like a edited sprite and not patched in any way.
or even a separate species would be nice.

GeekyRaptorStudios I submited the standalones onto Chucklefish forums. Refer to the end of the edited mod description to find it. I decided to leave the standalone mod folders open for spriters who want to edit the sprites their own way, or combine features from other race editing mods together. The standalone folders for each species are inside the zipped folder provided.

If I separate the Avians into a separate addon that you don't use, then no. This mod will conflict since it edits Avian bodies and arms.

but I do got a minor question, will it overwrite my avain's 'just like real birds' mod that adds back wings to the avians?

This mod doesn't overwrite the Apex. Apex edits in my Meet the Primatex mod include hex code edits as well so I separated that into a different mod. Only the species in the screenshots shown are edited. But when i get the chance, I will separate these into one by one versions.

any way I can get this for only the hyotl and novakids? I don't want to overwrite the appearance of my apex or avians... If you could make standalone versions that'd be boss awesome! Thnx!
