i did the menu_cleanupgmas trick, the soldier and shotgunner still dont look quite right, am i doing something wrong?

You can use Extended Render - Glow Eyes if you want glowing MMOD eyes. Just don't use HL2 MMOD Combine reskin.

Uhh you are using another reskin, that's for sure. The normal Combines don't look like that. https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/Overwatch_Soldier you can take a look at the normal model. Maybe you're using HL2 MMOD Combine reskin?

Maybe that's just workshop doing the tradition of fucking downloads up, if that's that then unsubscribe from this addon, open console in-game, type menu_cleanupgmas, then re-subscribe to this addon. Else how do Combine Soldiers look? Can you post a screenshot?

Do you mean that this doesn't affect Combine Soldiers and Shotgun Soldiers? Maybe try without addons? There sometimes are addons that are hexed poorly.
