Because of the FAQ questions about dressing prisoners, I thought I'd mention here that my new mod Prisoner Utils has functionality for dressing prisoners.

there are situations where a pawn can be downed/incapacitated but not count as a "patient", i think this mod should include those cases. had some poor incapacitated toddlers develop hypothermia and i couldnt dress them til the hypothermia actually caused damage, so i patched the mod myself.

No but seriously what about an option to make gear set by this mod force equipped? I often use it for wheelchairs which unfortunately pawns will stupidly get out of despite missing legs etc.

There's also just a plain Anesthetize surgery, isnt there? No need for additional mods/character editing/commands, just go to their Operations and knock them out with some herbs, then change their clothes as you see fit.

This is not legal in real life, do not do it please.

@Erik Or for convenience's sake, use Character Editor, hit the Anesthesize button to down them, carry them to a medical bed, then dress them. No muss, no fuss. We need more convenience in this game, not less. We need less UNNECESSARY stress in this game, not more.

Only issue is you can strip royalty wearing cata armor if they in a bed waiting for treatment.

I was playing as a charity faction where I help everyone including raiders, the raider broke his spine during the raid though, so no movement at all. Thank you for this mod so I could equip a wheelchair on him.

If you want to use this mod on prisoners just hurt the prisoner and voilà they are now a patient.

to all the human instances demanding the author to expand this mod to prisoners: you can already do that in the vanilla game.

step 1) put clothes in prison cell.
step 2) there is no step 2, the prisoner is already wearing the clothes you gave them.

additional notes:
* if the prisoner doesn't wear the clothes you gave them, they're probably wearing clothes they
think are better. you can remedy this by stripping them & taking away the clothes you don't want them to wear.
* if your other, non prisoner colonists are coming in & taking the clothes instead, disallow the clothes using that one button. ...yeah, interestingly, prisoners can still pick up items you've "forbidden" your colonists to use. perhaps because they're not actually controlled by you, and so are under no obligation to abide by your rules & forbiddances.

P.S. eagle0600, if you want people to shut up about the prisoners, may i recommend putting something like this in your description?

I just can't find a mod for force-dressing prisoners... I understand why you won't implement this but prisoners won't equip parkas and stuff and would rather die of hypothermia on winter trips :'<

Right I'm going to say this ONE TIME. If a non incapacitated colonists OR PRISONER is waiting for an operation IN BED the game counts them as 'downed' so they don't wonder off while waiting. So YOU CAN EASILY DRESS PRISONERS. (They do not need to be unconscious from anaesthetic. They just need to be waiting in bed.)

Jeez guys, they already said they won't extend this to prisoners. Just set up a storage zone in your prison, allow only the apparel you want the prisoners to wear, jack up the priority and the prisoners will put on what they need. This literally works in vanilla.

Can you make this mod compatible with the fake down mod? Currently that's the only kind of incapacitated colonist I can't dress.

Delarade is being reasonable with his prisoner method, but I on the other hand already know I'll have to beat the shit out of my prisoners to truly get the intended experience.

@Frank The mod's source code (included in the download) specifies Order_DressPatientOrCorpse as the internal name of the float menu option. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that the author wanted to support it, although I haven't had a chance to try it.

I've seen a lot of comments here regarding dressing prisoners. This gave me a little idea, which I just tested out in game. The mod says you can dress anyone who is in medical care, right? So if you click on the prisoner you want to dress, go into the operations tab, and give them the "anesthetize" operation, they are now flagged as patients. You can then freely dress them. It is a harmless procedure that just makes them sleep, so you can do it with just a couple herbal medicine. Hope this helps!

@ddable well, would it be possible for someone, to make an addon, that allow you to dress your Prisoners?
And even as asked below, dead pawns? Make some, funeral clothing.
