i wish some can make a cb radio that you can keep and still have the cab light opitons

Is it safe to remove this mod? Having nothing but problems getting it to work in convoys

@jhandkw I'm trying to learn how to properly fix that exact issue. As soon as I get it figured out ill either tell you how to do it or ill repackage the mod with the corrections made and upload it. Either way I'll be in touch.

I have never ever seen a CB radio that even comes close to looking like that. Cobra 29 is the most popular CB for American Truckers..

The radio in the new western star 5700XE is a little bit into the roof.

Sure is a awful little mic cord. Ever drop the mic and the cord would break into...

the rx (receiving signal) of an cb radio in a car can be normaly around 20 to 30 km and not like 5km like the scs radio has on FM mode.
tx (tranceiving signal) can be even more then that it depends on propagation high in the air.
most people in car or trucks using an amplifier to give a stronger signal (mobile station) called.
personal i used a ssb radio which have FM/AM/USB/LSB modulations on it.(the president lincoln) with an frequency counter on the display.
i had contact with more then 100 country,s from my home base setup within the years that has been passed.
so anyway this are the most radio,s with specs that are based on the local laws:
output: 5 watt
channel: 40
power supply: 12v dc
range: around 30 km
freq: 27 mhz
anyway i also build and test my own made different type,s antennas for different frequency,s.

The "88" is simply the channel display not lighting up.

Similar to an old calculator when it's turned off, under some lighting, looks like it says "88888888". When in actuality it's simply the LCD or LED circuitry purposely formed in a specific shape.

When different parts of that circuit are lit up, it forms a shape that humans can recognize as a number. Hence the birth of the electronic calculator.

But to answer your question human (lol), I have never seen that before. Mine always lights up "19".

I remember those old "calculator jokes" where you would do a specific math problem to solve a riddle. Then turn the calculator upside down, and it would look like a word, which would be the solution to the riddle.

There is a small bit of vertical bounce, but not very much. The model is really a solid model of the cord with a small piece of elastic on the top, so there's never going to be much scope for it being very accurate. Are you seeing channel 19 or 88? I see 19 when I play, but perhaps I did not construct the Steam workshop item correctly, or it did not upload correctly. Someone said further down they still see 88.

Being a fan of big band and jazz, it was only logical.

BTW, I noticed that this only adds horizontal "swing" to the cord. Is it possible to add vertical "bounce" to the cord as well. The 2 together would most certainly be realistic.

Yes it worked in 1.40, but it didn't change to channel 19.... still at 88. Does it need to be updated to 1.41?

Oh, I also updated the model for channel 19 instead of the 88 that it was.

It used to swing a lot more quickly in the Sisl Mega pack, it looked like it was a spring, so I updated it to what I felt was the best compromise. It's not perfect by any means, but it's better than it was. I only updated the script that sets the physical response of the cord, that's all.

As a former trucker, I have to say, this is a nice looking mod, but the cord swing is not realistic. It is grossly overexaggerated to the point it is obnoxious. The mod states it has been updated for 'better swing', I have to wonder if they didn't have it right the first time. Cord swings way too fast and way too much to look real. Does it serve any purpose, such as multiplayer communications, or is it just for looks?

Last time I looked Sisl had not added the CB radio to the Western Star, I don't recall it even having a hanging items point. I'll double check, if it's there I'll update this mod.

how do you use this? i installed yet i hear nothing
