Yes you can. To transfer your unmodded charactors to the modded version, go to C:\Users\<insert user name>\My Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2. Now go into the 'save' folder and copy the two files with the name of the charactor you want to use. Paste the two files into the 'modsave' folder. Now viola you can use your characters. NOTE: This is a one way street and if you try to reverse this process your character will be marked as "cheater".

@Brandon, The Torchlight II Origional and mod client are two seperate entities that store data in different locations to prevent imbalance/client issues between people with mods and people with out. It could be that this is your first time using a mod so you have not noticed the client change before. If you try to run the game with the non-modded client you should see your old characters.

@Yusaku You have to set the mod at the top of the list when managing them. Even if you're using Synergies it'll work without problems if it's set below this mod.
