I just want to say almantuxas you are a god send because this makes the game more enjoyable and made most weapons viable.

And also just flat out overpowered. Completely ignoring the combo limit and rest. Making combat just a spamfest instead of requiring timing and precision.

For some reason my broadsword no longer does the 3 attack combo. just the same attack over and over and it feels like ♥♥♥♥. idk if its this mod or not.

@Mitios checked your comment, and I have no idea how that could be even happening with a patch-only mod. I could probably add patches to vanilla broadswords and hammers while not breaking the game if both mods are loaded

Not exactly sure why it would not work on servers; does the server and the client have the mod? And did you try with the original Melee Aiming version to see if it does work when this mod does not?
I guess I could take a look some time, but this mod is based on the original, so I'd guess the issue would be happening for both.

@Salturello if you meant the weapon is frozen at an angle in the idle stance (not swinging), the newest update should've fixed it.

@Almantuxas I've tested some of the weapons and i'm pretty sure all weapons in (greataxe, scythe, mace, 1h katana, 2h katana) categories are affected. Would suspect something on my end, but since broadswords and hammers from original mod are working fine, i believe something was changed in FU code.

For some reason idle aiming doesn't work and after attack weapon just gets stuck in the position it should've aim. Original mod works fine, so it's something with FU weapons

Is it possible to include broadswords and hammers in this version? Using the original + this + FU causes frame spikes. Removing the original clears up all the frame spikes but you can't aim broadswords and hammers anymore...

I've updated the mod to the latest Frackin' Universe version that was available on the 1st of February; I should probably run the autopatcher once every week.

Really appreciate the mod. Reckon you could upload to the Chucklefish community forum for non-Steam users? I have both versions so I was able to transfer it just fine.

Hi! If you're looking for answers of guns breaking, it's the combination of FU, this mod/any other melee aiming mod and Weapon Stats, i reccomend u unstalling Weapon Stats since it's not compatible with FU

@Kindra This mod only contains the patches for FU's melee weapon types to be aimable, not vanilla's. So yes, you would need the other melee aiming mod for vanilla melee weapon types to be aimable.

@Joker if the mod doesn't do what it's supposed to (allow the aiming of non-aimable melee weapons (battleaxes, scythes, etc.) from Frackin' Universe), then it is outdated. I don't see Starbound as the game to have mod-breaking updates, especially at this point/state of its development. The only time I'd see this mod break/become outdated is if the Frackin Universe team modified the things that this mod is patching, and I hope they won't in a forever, because no one should fix what isn't broken.

Pushed an update. I had the files go trough Kawa's Starbound linter to check for any stupid mistakes, however PLEASE REPORT IF ANYTHING RELATED TO THE MOD BREAKS.

@Pencil_Cat it's probably because those scythes are new, and, because of that, are yet to be patched by this mod. I'll probably have to unpack Frackin' Universe again just to check how they're called in the files.
Also, I'm currently rewriting the patches with how Khe suggested to have the patches.

I've tested all the scythes in the armory and it's actually just the Cosmic Scythe and Kirhos Scythe

mod's almost there, but you could use a lil refinement in your test ops. yours are basically

if that makes sense. in this way, instead of failing the whole patch if one test fails, it only fails each pair that fails, the rest will continue checking.

Also, FU is NOT incompatible with the 'vanilla' melee aim from what I have seen from looking into the patches it uses. If anything, FU might be the source of problems there. Would have to have identified problem cases.

okay, you did a couple things wrong here:
1) always use test ops. ALWAYS. It helps ensure compatibility.
2) you're considering filesize on a mod that's not even a quarter of a megabyte, instead of ensuring compatibility. priorities out of order.
3) use the includes field, don't count on priority. if you use includes, it will tell the game that this mod needs to load after.

It's Weapon Stats that breaks FU guns.
Weapon Stats is specifically listed as not compatible with FU

@Mr. Moose this does nothing to modify the guns from fu. melee aiming is compatible, it's that it doesn't affect modded weapon typed (like shortspears or alike), which is why i made this mod (it's a glorified patch, really).

Frackin' Universe states it's incompatible with melee aiming- which I found out later in my playthrough when I wasn't able to aim any Frackin' Universe guns. Does this mod change that or something..? Because god I love Melee Aiming but I also wanna be able to shoot the Frackin' Universe guns.

This seems to ignore the screw attack alt ability that's on some FU weapons, with melee aiming the weapon during the ability animation will just freeze in place and make the overall animation look odd.
