To anyone interested, you can use the mod "simple warrants" in Rimworld 1.3 to get your kidnapped colonists back

It should work. Still there a vanilla time-based chance that the kidnapped pawn may be recruited be the hostile faction, also he could have died. But if he's still alive and still belongs to your faction, he should appear in these quests.

Yes it checks for kidnapped colonists so it works. As long as the kidnapped colonist isn't dead or has not been recruited by the hostile faction.

I've added a spy offer following a successfull rescue mission to prevent the pawn from turning hostile. Once accepted, the "kidnapped" tag in the social tab disappear.

I might give it a shot, on a separate save, just to see what happens. I know one of the two pawns is still alive because other mods indicate so.

I wonder if there's something in the RuntimeGC mod that could/would clean up the duplicates? Whether it could be implemented on this mod or if it's worth asking that modder to do?

The issue is kidnapped pawns are likely to turn to the hostile faction which captured them. That's partly why in vanilla you rarely have ransom demands (the captured pawns either died from his wounds after being captured or he survived but was recruited by the hostile faction).
Since the rescued pawned has still the "kidnapped" tag, he may turn hostile...
But i can't repro the issue with duplicate pawns.

Yes, it's the same issue with "No Pawn Left Behind", i have to find a solution to remove pawns from the world pawns properly, i don't have much time so i'll ask for help on Ludeon forums to see if anyone has a quick fix.

I loaded the mod after the pawn was kidnapped. Perhaps this contributed to the issue.

This mod generates an issue: duplicating pawns that share the same ID. it spawns the pawn without removing it properly from the world pawns.

This issue is also in the mod "No Pawn Left Behind". Perhaps the author already has a solution.

Sometimes they die from their wounds after being captured. You can check in dev mod if the quest is available: world incident -> quest_kidnapped , if it's not available there is a [no] next to it, meaning no alive kidnapped pawn.

Huh, for some reason my colonist was kidnapped a while back. I swore I would save her but.. she's never shown up. No quest things, no radio comms, nothing.

Got it. It happens when Rimquest forces the quest when there's no lost pawn or kidnapped pawn. I'll try to find a work around for the next update.

Hello Friend! Graet job here, love the quest. Just here, as the fellow buddy bellow my comment, to point that your mod, in addition with the mod Rimquest, u can click infinite times in "confirm (XX silver) on the kiddnaped colonist item checked, making appear in the map a lot of kiddnaped events, as much as you click. The blue icon and the confimation that u received the quest do not apeear, just for the kidnapped quest. Next time it happens I will post the debug log. Please, can u fix? Thanks a lot

With Rimquest you can actually ask for quests over and over, so if you ask for a 'lost pawn' or a 'kidnapped pawn' quest whithout any lost pawn or kidnapped pawn, it will generate a standard prisoner camp for now. Whereas the storyteller won't offer these quests spontaneously if they're not available.

But i've just checked and haven't seen any issue with the notification letter or the Rimquest menu.

Yeah with Rimquest you can accept the quest over over, and it spawns a different prisoner location for each click, but the quest selection window doesn't go away until you cancel or select another quest, and then THAT notification is generated.

I do get the quest, it's just that i dont get any notification about it, i have to find the camp on the map myself.

With the rimquest mod, it gives a little notification when you get a quest. This specific incident doesn't create a notification for some reason.
