Yes, I just go with the assistant. I sometimes pick hard tackle if they have players with high aggression.

Do you use any kind of instructions against the other team's players?

Looks good so far, defence is surprisingly solid. My team is a bit rubbish winger wise so that may be holding the formation back a bit

Worked very well for me. Took Leyton Orient from the Conference to League One as back to back champions. Seems to work by outscoring the opposition and you never feel out of the game. Do seem to concede from a limited number of chances from the opposition.
I'm now hoping it continues to work in slightly higher leagues!

For me it works well. I played 3. and now 2. Bundesliga with it. I won the 3. with this formation.

For those who say it does not work: Make sure your players fit the position well. Honestly - most people are too dumb to do that or just ignore it and complain ...

I've changed the tactics a little bit, to more attacking mentalitty, but works great. If you manage a big club the main position of the used players don't matter that match, but in lower leagues it's mandatory to have players taht play that exact position, and that wil guarantee the succes. The only change I have made to your great tactic is changing from attacking style to Balanced when in front, and from attacking to Very attacking when behind. And also I have changed to more direct passing style, if you have experienced wide players, there is no chance for the oposition. I have taken teams from the last places and qualify them in UCL in only one year. So thank you again for the great tactic that you have developed.

Actually if you have the right players for every position (player natural in the required positions) the tactics works well. I played 3 carriers using this tactics, I hade a ratio of 79% win, so I was pleased :)

Dont rate this. Good effort but poor IMO. Tend to use tactics for atleast 10 games then whenever i feel ive learnt enough move on.

Won 2 Drew 1 Lost 7. All against bottom sides. Had to stop using it before i got sacked.

Tactics alone dont win matches or lose matches. But thank you for the feedback and trying my tactic.

I hate the thumbs up and thumbs down system of rating because I think this tactic is right in the middle.

Going into preseason I had the highest rated team in the VNL and this tactic produced several unbeaten runs of 5-10 games. The losses, while not frequent, were absolutely frustrating. My team would often have 20-25 shots with 10-15 on target, while the opposition would have 3-5 shots with 1-2 on target and I would lose 1-0 or 2-0.

I did notice that the tactic is incredibly susceptible to pacey strikers over the top and inside forwards on the break as well.

Solid tactic, but produced frustrating losses for me.

@NXG. Absolutely not a myth! If you keep attacking from the same place all the time, eventually the AI is going to realise this and adapt, hence it gets used to your tactic!

I have had back to back promotions twice now. Recruitment and how you manage your players are very important. You cannot just blame a tactic. I would find the game boring if all you had to do is pick any set of players into this tactic. Saying that, if your players are good enough, this tactic works. Thats all i want. I will evolve it as i move through the leagues. Thanks to all the positive comments. The knockers thanks for trying it. Get more creative

@Mageling this is bullshit and a myth. The AI never gets used to you tactic LOL. If you get better there are just more likely to defend deeper and thats the reason why it gets harder

Stevie is right. Can't just plug this in and expect good results till the end of your save. the AI/Teams gets used to your tactic after a while so it's important to freshen things up. Change your strategy. e.g. Focus down the wings instead or change the positions/roles slightly. In the middle of season 2, I brough in a new tactic entirely as I was on a bad run. Then switched back to this one at the end and managed to get promoted to League 2 at the first time of asking. With better players, I probably would have smashed the league but I finished 4th. Expected was relegation. Did that only using £12,000 of a £14,000 wage budget.

Mageling i agree, its only good 1st season, 2nd yeah alot more Drawn and losses, mid Season i started to change tactic, and started to win, 3rd season ive abanded this tactic completly for Lower Leauge 4-3-3. and it look so mucgh better already, scoeing, top of the Leauge in VNL with FC United. sorry to say, liked this one alot first season, but reality is that 1 striker is better for lowe leauge and with 1 DMC and offensive wingers, try it out if this dosent work out.

So many variables in the game. The tactic is just one part. After promotions surely you dont expect to carry on dominating without better players. Each time you go up tweak the tactic. Lower leagues need it simple. Higher leagues can take more instructions.

Well seem like it's just all teams in the second season scored less . The best attack had 2.5 goal/match and in the second season the best attack have 1.96 goal/match (2s best 1.69) . Basicelly the best attack this season would have been the 11th attack (14th attack for the second ) the first season . I've juste exactly the same drop than any other team (2.0 -> 1.3 ) .
So it's probably an another "issue" tha your tactics .

Yeah, maybe I am expecting too much :D I'ev rated it thumbs up anyway. Had a great 1st season and things are going pretty well now too overall.

Used this for a full season as Macclesfield Town (predicted dead last in league 2). Was in the automatic promotion spots for most of the season but dropped out in the last few games. Made the playoffs though, great tactic.

I also have the same issue in Season 2 even though i didn't get promoted in the 1st season .
I struggle to score .
I have the same player exept the defender (which are better ) and still have a huge %possession/shoot but i lost or draw way more often .
Like 20 shoot againts 3 and loosing 2-1 .

Not bad going for your team though. May just need one more season to build your team up.

An interesting thing though, whenever I have the team meeting now in season 2, the team really doesn't agree with playing Positive football. They seem to only agree with defensive style. We were considered relegation favorites at the start of the season. Currently sat in 4th place after 14 games. Played 14, Won 8, Drawn 4, Lost 2. I've tried tweaking things to score more goals but it's been a real stuggle so far.

I've improved the squad quite a lot. Playing with Guiseley. Finding a lot harder to score goals and win consistently in season 2. Yeah, they are the type of players I have been focusing on using at this level of football.

I didnt really change it tbh, why are you having issues? could be the players. if you overachieved they could need improving. team work and work rate are the best

Stevie, did you get any issues when moving into season 2? Or just continue to win in the same way? And do you make many adjustments for each game such as individual player instructions?

I am trying it with Yorkshire Amateurs so far so good. Top of the league after 15 games lost once, winning 3 and 4 now they are used to the tactic. next i will try higher leagues

It's been working well with my Salford save but going to try it with Altrincham, hopefully it will proved just as effective.

What I have noticed with my saves is the lower the league the fewer the instructions with this tactic. Not done champ and Prem yet

Seems to be working for me too. It was very similar to the tactic I was using, but my team are much more lethal with this one. Runcorn Town currently bossing it in the North West Counties Premier. Only lost one game in the cup against Gainsborough, but I rested several key players anyway. Thumbs up from me!

Dear @stevie you done a very well job! I tried it in Hol2 ligue and its just amazing! Its really a demolisher line up. When you get some good youth players which doesnt cost you much money you barley destroy all and everything.

Love hearing that feedback. I have back to back promotions now. In the 4th round fa cup and one another cup. Always positive, always encourage or get creative. May take a job offer in another country to see it works there.

That could have been moral of the team or to many chnages before. Once you have the settled team it should get tonnes better
