I think sitting in beds is now in vanilla mode but that's for creating it when it wasn't!

Thanks for this I never understood why prisoners don't just sit in their bed in vanilla.

@hexenrose: I didn't test it, but according to the update text, the update was purely cosmetic or UI, and no content, thus shouldn't interfere with this mod.

Yes they can sit in bed and relax. But that's all. And they barely do that in well functioning (correctional) prisons, because the comfort need is relieved passively with a lots of "activities" outside of the cell.
With this mod, they can sit in bed and watch TV, or read a book, and still increase their comfort additionally to literacy or recreation. This is not possible in vanilla PA.

But without this mod prisoners can already sit in beds to increase their comfort need right?

Just perfect. Works flawlessly. I regularly build 3 tile cells, so now they can even get comfort in there without the need for chairs!

qcs2017 would you consider making a poker mod someday? Prisoners gambling for money playing cards in a common room

@master... I dare to say the Sit in Bed mod is most probably not the culprit for your nightly tazer sessions. I don't do anything with tazers.

@ChunkyBluntz In my eyes, the only issue left (known to me) is an aesthetic one with bunk beds sometimes making prisoners sleep but purely visually appearing sitting. I currently believe the game engine does decide when the prisoner goes from sitting to sleeping without a delay not to re-render the prisoner when s/he is already at the bed spot where she would sleep - s/he sleeps sitting like some people do in sofa chairs... so I think from immersion point of view it is not really highly problematic. This does (hopefully) not happen anymore with standard beds as the sitting spot is different now for those.

Other than that, the mod is working fine and you can allow your prisoners to sit in their beds.

@master... oooohkay, with a very strange regime I was sometimes able to see the issue, and I changed something in V0.2 which I just pushed. The prisoners now sit in the "foot" area of the bed, and I have not seen the issue again since. This seems to confirm my suspicion mentioned earlier. Please check yourself. Problem is: I can not do the same for bunk beds, but I have anyway not been able to reproduce this issue with bunk beds so far even with the worst regimes. If anyone notices this situation with bunk beds, please say so.

@master.. Uh that doesn't sound likely. I have not yet seen that. My first suspect would be a game bug not realizing that it has to update the graphics when the prisoner goes from sitting to sleeping right away, but I think I would have already seen that one as my regime usually allows that behaviour. Anyway, do you have any more information? What's the regime when this happens? Screenshot? A save file right before it happens would be perfect? :-)

Good Mod One thing Is I have found a bug when they go sleep some are sitting and sleeping this gets my OCD I did find you have to escort them to their same cell to unbug but I would like to see this bug fix.

@"The Troller" I made sure the default chair sitting (and any other sitting) is not affected. See fourth Screenshot for this mod, one prisoner sits on a chair while the other one sits on his bed. I gave the bed sitting a lower Comfort restoration value, so if the prisoner AI would be deciding solely on this value, prisoners would always prefer sitting on chairs or benches over beds, but that isn't strictly the case, so either the AI takes other factors into account (but I wouldn't know which ones) or it doesn't and it is purely random.

Can you make a alternative version there dosent remove the chair sitting feature allowing prisoners to both sit down in chairs and beds in cells

Love the mod so far made it eazyier to make my prison more compact and fluent

After that, please come back and then tell more about this issue, I am not sure I understand correctly. I usually don't play with larger dorms than for two people, but I have one test prison with two different dorms with 7 and 8 bunk beds respectively, and it looks as If I don't have a problem with those dorms. If possible, you can also share your prison to show me?

ithe mods seem to make the double beds at a point of when u place like 5 it makes any more double besd count as only 1 bed and have nowhere for other prisoners

@"The Troller" in vanilla game they need to sit on chairs to watch TV or read a book, although they can relax and read a book while on bed, but this requires "quiet" environment (not too easy to provide, impossible in Dorms). With this mod, they can use the bed to simply sit and read a book or sit and watch TV - that what this mod is all about, see the screenshots in the gallery above for examples.

Found out it was in the vanilla game already can they also watch tv while sitting in the bed or read a book while sitting in the bed?

@"The Troller" I am not sure, but isn't that default behaviour? Place a TV in cell, two chairs in front of it, and they can watch TV. What exactly do you need this mod to change? Do you want them both sit on one chair or one prisoner on the other's lap? That's not possible with the default chair, but I guess it would be possible with a custom chair defining two seats/slots. But why?

Can you also make prisoners able to both sit on a chair and watch tv at the same time? If the chair is in front of the tv

5 Stars just for the legitimate reason that if their was a TV in a cell you would watch it while in bed. I've been waiting for someone to build this mod ever since first playing Prison Architect. Speaking from experience, I spent most of my time watching TV in my cell.

I don't mean that you MAKE the reskins, i mean that for example: the stock toilet in game has a built-in sink, but what if i want you to make a mod that add a small sink and you need to use that to clean yourself after toilets as a way to fix hygiene?
