I really like this mod but I might be blind or is there no way or button to patch games implemented?

@JSJosh Oh lmao, I've used this mod so much I forgot whats the base game and whats modded. Now I wish this mod changed piracy to be more realistic, tried looking if there was a mod that does it but sadly there is not, I like the idea of piracy existing.

@Mr Chicken That... was not added by the mod maker. That was added by the developers of the game. Originally as a way to punish people that pirated the game, and later added to the game as an extra challenge game mode.

Why is adding piracy so harsh? Completely unrealistic, that's not even remotely close to how piracy works. Shame I wish the game had proper piracy implementation, not piracy = awful sales.

@ Bjeboj because GDT is an old html browser based game and the mod runs on top of the original code so it may experience race conditions that may slow down the game.

Why does this mod cause fps drops? When the development window, ratings window, or almost any window is open, sometimes the game itself simply experiences a fps drop. The fps drop remains constant regardless of screen resolution or graphics settings.

This mod is GOATED.

@Some Random Gamer that issue should have been fixed a long time ago, weird that its happening for you again. Maybe re-install the mod?

Does anyone get really annoyed because the UI just like shifts randomly and cuts off part of itself? Like, I had to disable the mod because it was happening so consistently and I couldn't see my game sales properly and the only way to fix it was the completely restart the game.

@Bellwood Studios you mean via Windows settings? I really dont want to change it every time i am playing this game and revert it when i am not.

@zmajster01 you can also set your windows text zoom to 150-200% and that will make the ingame text bigger as well.

Hi, this mod really brings new breath into this game, love it...but....text is too small on 4k resolution so for anybody who want, and is capable to edit any text file...

Open: (where your game)...\Game Dev Tycoon\mods_ws\902903884_TAG_Mod\css\general.css
and add at start this HTML tag:

html{font-size:22px;}

This will set "new" default value for text, so as a result it makes text bigger. I hope mod developer add soon some kind of option to change font size directly from menu.

You can experiment with size but too big values 26+ makes some text bigger then their windows so dont do extremes.

@READTHEE that is strange, as it looks sharp and fine on my 4K monitor. The game itself is tied to your OS screen resolution, so if you have any settings there (like scale and layout) they will affect the game, as there are no in-game rez settings and it is a old Html chrome browser based game.

As for the patch button not showing, this has happened a couple of times in the past for a few people, but it's kind of random and seldom appearing mostly and has been...patched before, so not quite sure why it wont show up sometimes for some. Maybe reinstall the mod, that sometimes helps clear most issues. Also there are many race conditions in this game so could be that.

The screenshot is at 1080p. On any res above that (mine is 1440p) it'll look blurry, text will look blurry. So it appearing sharp here doesn't mean much. Switching the dark mode off makes the text look better, maybe because of the contrast.

I haven't seen any patch option, clicked everywhere, every employee, there was nothing. Oh well, when you are making billions you can just ignore the patching so it doesn't really break anything gameplaywise.

@READTHEE Patch Game option should be a button available on any of the employees menus (round bug icon). If the font is blurry then it might be something on your end (mode may have not loaded properly or something else), all fonts and colors should be sharp and legible (as seen on the screenshots).

Can't patch a game with this mod installed, and the dark mode is awful (font is blurry and a mess to read).

Other than that, the changes are good. But the fact that you can't patch a game is just annoying.

@Pelayo @PechugaLoca Try un-subing an re-subing to the mod. Sometimes Steam mod downloads are weird. (Make sure before you resub the mods_ws does not have Tad mod in it).

@Lindex this looks like it's wanting to load another mod, as stated in our section on compatibility with other mods: "We can't ensure that all mods will work with TAG Mod. Most non UI mods should work fine, but your mileage may vary. We have had very mixed results from people and compatibility, so you'll have to try and see what works."
Best would be to unsub from any mods that don't work with TAG if you still want to use it.

@Flokos | The Great there is probably something up with the insta stuff. Tho there have been frame drops on other occasions as well. Probably the nature of the vanilla game being old and the mod running on top of it, or as you suggested.

I've got a suspicion that after unlocking the R&D lab my game started lagging. It runs at 30fps or lower where until now it was locked at 60.

When the tab of my Own Convention came to screen my game dropped from 30fps to 10fps. Something must be clogging the memory.

Update: I disabled the insta convention and no frame drops after the Convention window appeared. Maybe loading all the people textures at once is the issue?

I would love it if you made it easier for us who have topic mods to add the custom images from that mod into this mod!

@odayian420 click on subscribe and it should auto download, then go to GDT and enable it in the mods section.

@asaonsteaam Compatibility with other mods is not up to Tag Mod, if it breaks it's a mod that can't be used in tandem with Tag Mod.

This breaks with SwitchLove's cheat mod thingie, Can you try to fix it?

@Cidoca usually un-subbing and re-subbing to the mod fixes it. Before resubbing make sure the mods_ws folder does not have tag mod in it.

There's a problem loading the mod it gives an error saying 'code/polyfills.js' is missing, How to Fix it ?

There does happen to be a bug where sometimes, if you reload a game, and when the reviews are seen, showing the total review score, it locks up. The one way to get around that is to quit the game and reload, and it'll progress.

Thank you so much for fixing serious problems like the menu pop up delay. The game is 100x better now. Keep this updated man, it's a life saver!

When finishing a game, using instant review, the review keeps freezing.

@Bellwood Studios ok thanks for the reply. It doesn't seem to work on Linux then, at least not with Gnome desktop scaling. That's with the native build at least, I suppose I could try running the Windows version via Proton

@rapidfiringneurons I don't know about Linux, but in windows changing the system font scale also scales the fonts in GDT, so might work similarly in Linux.

@免除する Patch Button should be on the employees menu, when you need to dev a patch, click on someone on your team and there should be a bluish button with a patch icon on it.

Is there a way to improve the UI font size if we're playing the native Linux build of GDT? It seems to work great, but the font is quite small for me.

@HopDap You can influence the UI scaling by setting your Windows UI scale to 150% or 200%, this will influence the font size as well.

Very small font, please make it larger or add a font selection setting!!!
