As mentioned by others, the industrious Mlie , who adopts abandoned mods for Rimworld, has updated it >>> RimWriter <<<

As I don't use this mod, here are links to the ones I do that are related to it: Vanilla Books Expanded from the creators of the Vanilla Expanded series, and its unofficial add-on Vanilla Books Expanded Expanded by Ben Lubar (also maintained by Mlie).
The FAQ in VBE's page states it's compatible with RimWriter, though they overlap - read the description.

Hi, thank you for the mod, that's exactly what i was looking for for a long time now! One question: could the bookshelves be modified in a way that would allou them to store something other, than books from your mod? I want to make a sort of "welding" patch for your mod and Vanilla Books Expanded, and books from both mods would be stored in these bookshelves.

This one is very good too. Simple e fun. Hope you plan on update as well.

Hey dude, will this work with 1.3? If not, how do I stop the cthulu monster madness? I have the monster mod dude.

It seems this mod deletes campfire drop menu for me. I clicked the bill button but nothing shows up when I wanted to cook. I haven't researched yet to use the writings tech yet.

I really love this mod and enjoy making grand libraries and having alternate sources of entertainment for my pawns. Good flavor, great for mechanics too.

None of my bookshelves are accepting books anymore.

This mod still works for 1.2. Yet it's a pity that most of my books talked about making food...

Any chance of compatibility with Vanilla Books Expanded moving forward? I love the visuals of your bookshelves, but they seem to work in a nonintuitive way - just a simple edit to include the Vanilla Books Expanded item types to the bookshelves does add them to the bookshelf's storage options, but doesn't seem to actually work for some reason.

Are skillbooks supposed to be so absurdly expensive? A poor-quality one costs more than arcotech organs!

I suggest cutting the value of the stone shelves in half (or more), they're about twice the value as the regular 2-spot shelf that you get from the complex furniture tech.
