I have an issue where I as the host cannot go from above ground to caves or back with a bundle or the game starts crashing for me. Any idea what's going on there? I do use controller if that matters.

I use Visual Studio Code for programming. It has nice full text search features and these are a must when you do DST modding.
When i draw new images, i use Krita with my graphics tablet.
For making my animated thumbnails and mod page images i use Photoshop CC. It has animation tools which allow for quick and good results. But i bet there are free alternatives.
For making animations inside DST itself you'll have to look at Spriter. There are some tutorials on youtube and the klei forums.

To get started i recommend subscribing a ton of mods that do interesting and non trivial stuff. For example my void gem mod for learning more about entity filtering and stuff. After they're downloaded copy them to your "dst modding project space" and add them as folders to your workspace in visual studio code when you mod, so you can search for information how to do things easier. Thats how i do most of my stuff. I you have more specific questions, add me as a friend i guess

@Mariam It is not possible to see the contents of bundles from the client side without actually opening them. Hence, this needs to be a server mod.

Excuse my request, but could you make this mod also work with the gift wraps from winter's feast? Or maybe add like a config option for it? Thanks in advance

I did not make a version for single player. Right now, i do not intend to do one. If you know anyone that can port this mod to singleplayer, you can send him/her my way. Have a good one!

Well, you have the option to not use it on the gift, so no harm done i guess

It's kind of pointless to make it work with gifts, you will have to open them anyway and the surprise is always better
